McCormick will go to New Llabon topreach, Sunday. He contemplates beginning a series of revival meetings at that place, at that time. There will be preaching at the M. E. church. 8unday morning but not at night because of the revival services at the Frienda church. Miss Cora Wise, who la attending school at Earlham will be home thia evening to apend over Sunday with her parenta, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Wise. Claude Kltterman, of Cambridge City waa In town on business yesterday. Word has been received from Mrs. Martin Frasee. of Louisville Kentucky, that she has been on the sick list, but li again better. The town marshal waa around over town and lighted the street gas lamps. The town has been in darkness because the gas was frosen up. Miss Maggie Vannatl Is still quite lame In her hip, but la able to get about the house. Her brother, Peter Vannatl, who la suffering from a sore finger because of a piece of heavy ice falling on hia hand, is getting along well also. Lafe Cross who has been suffering from heart trouble Is slightly improved. The dancing class that met at the Odd Fellowa hall, Wednesday evening numbered 23. The class will meet again Friday night, January 26. Miss Cora Brown entertained as her guest, over Wednesday night, Mrs. Earl Thomas, nee Miss Emma Quinn, of New Llabon. Mrs. Harry Manlove was hostess for the Embroidery club, Wednesday afternoon. The club guests were Mesdames Marry Doty, Cbas. Crownover. F. C. McCormick, C. L. Merriman and Earl Thomas. Nice refreshments were served and a pleasant afternoon was pent by all the ladies. The next meeting will be with Mrs. Ernest Doty, Wednesday afternoon, January 31. Notice to Contractors: Notice is hereby given by the Board of Public Works of the City of Richmind, Indiana, that sealed proposals will be received by it, at its office, at the hour of 10 o'clock A. M.t on Thursday, January 25, 1912, for the following described public improvements in the City of Richmond, as authorized by the Improvement Resolutions named: Improvement Resolution No. 280-1911. For the improvement of North "C" Street, from Fort Wayne Avenue to North 16th Street, by constructing cement sidewalk 5 foot wide on both sides of said street between the points named, except where cement walk of good quality already exists. Improvement Resolution No 289-1911. For the improvement of South West 4th Street, by grading and graveling the roadway and constructing cement curb, gutter and sidewalks on both sides of said street, from National Road to South West "E" street. Improvement Resolution No. 290-1911. For the improvement of East Main Street, by constructing cement sidewalks (9 feet in width) on south side of street, from South 12th to South 22nd Street, and on the north side of street from North 21st to 22nd Street. All work done in the making of said described public improvements, shall be in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Improvement Resolutions, as numbered, and the detail plans, profiles, drawings and specifications which are on file and may be seen in the office of said Biard of Public Works of the City of Richmond. The bidders, in submitting proposals to make said described public improvements, must accompany bid under Improvement Resolution No. 280-1911, with certified check in the sum of $150; Bid under Improvement Resolution No. 289-1911, with certified check in the sum of $250.00; Bid under Improvement Resolution No. 290-1911, with certified check in the sum of $125.00, as evidence of good faith that the successful bidders will execute, within ten days from the acceptance of proposals, contracts and bonds satisfactory to the said Board to do the work of making said improvements. A failure of the successful bidders to enter into such contracts and bonds upon the acceptance of such proposals will forfeit the checks and the sums of money payable thereon to the city as agreed and liquidated damages for such failure. The City of Richmond will pay within thirty days after the approval of the final assessment roll by the Board of Public Works, the cost of the street and alley intersections under said improvements, and ten per cent of the cost of the curb and gutter under Improvement Resolution No. 289-1911.
