REPORT GIVEN BY COUNTY RECORDER

On Real Estate and Personal Property Transaction in 1911.

Report of real estate and personal property transactions which were recorded with county recorder Will Robbins during 1911 compares favorably with that of 1910, although neither report is a true criterion of the business done either year. The reason for this is that in making out deeds for property It is seldom that the correct consideration is given, sometime, it being "$1 and other valuable considerations," and at other times an amount, greater than that paid, is shown by the deed. During 1911 there were 1548 warranty and quit claim deeds filed with the recorder. The value of the proper

ty shown by these deeds was $2,602,

w6. There were ten sheriff's deeds,

'he value of the property so disposed of being $17,814. The county recorded void fourteen pieces of property, the

i slue being $408, making the total

number of real estate transactions 1,

172, and the total value as reported.

12.621.027. In 1910 there were 1642

deeds of all descriptions filed, the total

lue being $13,214,298. The record for

J910 is so much larger because of the fact that the C. & O. railroad was sold twice, each time the consideration be-

ins? more than Ave million dollars.

There were 299 mortgages on farm

lands filed during 1911 as against 311

mortgages on farm lands reported as

Mtisfied. The total value of the mort

gages tied was $625,186, as against (483,888, the value of the mortgages

on farm lands satisfied. Five hundred and thirty-nine mortgages were taken out on city and town property, the value being $598,188. Opposed to this 480 mortgages on city and town property were satisfied, the total value of the mortgages released being $428,085. Twenty school fund mortgages, showing a valuation of $28,400, were filed and 13 school fund mortgages, bearing the face value of $12,700, were satisfied. The number of chattel mortgages died during the past year, was 296, bearing the value of $99,709. Two hundred and twenty such mortgages were released. They bore the value of $46,ii7. A hundred and two mechanic's Hens, with the face value of $11,174 were filed as against 40 of the value Of $5,840 being reported as satisfied. The 1910 report shows the total number of mortgages of all descriptions which were filed in that year was 1395, bearing the face value of $1,284,r&2. The mortgage satisfactions during 1910 included 1,222 instruments of

the value of $1,028,601.

FIGHT FOR RICHESON

To Save Young Minister from Execution.

(National News Association)

BOSTON, Mass., Jan. 10. While

their client, under sentence of death

during the week beginning May 19, for the murder of Avis Linnell, lies on his cot in the Charles street jail, on the verge of a nervous breakdown at

torneys for the Rev. Clarence V. T.

Richeson are planning their fight to

save him from the electric chair. After preserving a steadfast demean or in court, where he received the sentence of death, Richesdh was taken to

his cell. There, relieved, perhaps, at the ending of the long suspense, he ordered a hearty meal for the first time for weeks. Ills meal, precipitated an attack of Indigestion . The nerves, so long strung taut by suspense, were shattered, and his guards found Richeson writhing in agony in his cell. Rlcheson's senior counsel, Attorney John L. Lee, will leave tonight for his Virginia home for a three weeks' rest. On his return, the real fight to free the minister will commence. It will be the most blttef in the history of New Eigland. Scores have already stated their attitude on the question of commuting the pastor's sentence to life imprisonment. Some take one side, somi another. All New England is taking a personal interest in the fate of the young minister. 1
