"Go" from the Judge's stand with a tithe of the vigor that will be given by his friends as they ehout "Go" in this, his race for life. W. A. Ryan in the Terre Haute Star. Charles' many friends In Post C, Join In wishing him a long and happy wedded life.

Next Saturday night is regular meeting night. There are several matters that should come up for consideration at this meeting, some of them being as follows: Kfport of the Hoard of Directors. Report of the chairmen on entertainment and arrangf-ments; selecting committees and arranging for the smoker on Dec. 30th. Then there are a whole lot of other matters that will admit of discussion If the members will limber up their tongues and let the membership know that they can talk. If Post (,'s membership could "orate" as well as play "rum" the dizzy tlights to which some of our members would go would make Chauncey reew in his palmy days look like a bashful school boy in his first attempt at reciting "Curfew Shall Not Ring Tonight."

j Post C, T. P. A. was well represented on the "Boosters" trip last Wednesday. They all seemed to behave theml selves very creditably, considering the i extra amount of cider drank, and apples and sandwiches eaten. Among those accompanying the "Boosters" were James Martin, L. E. Brown, HorI ace and Clarence Kramer, Geo. Seldel, T. II. Hill, W. H. Kelly, Fred Barrel, A. E. Holmes and P. T. McClellan.

G. A. Mendenhall, as chairman of the state division "hotel committee is about the busiest T. P. A. in Indiana. Al. says if business keeps on improving he will have to rent an office and hire a stenographer. We will venture a guess that the hotels and T. P. A's of Indiana know this year that there is uch nn officer in the T. P. A. as chairman of the hotel committee. Some of the committee chairmen of Post C. might do well to emulate the example set by this hustling state Chairman and let the Post know that they are strictly on the Job.

Heart to Heart Talks. By EDWIN A. NYE. Copyright, 1908, by Edwin A.Nye

Wonder who is thinking of being a candidate for delegate to the National Convention to be held In Peoria, 111., next June. This will be a very pleasant trip and one not bo long that the going and returning will take away the pleasure. Besides we understand the Peoria Post is preparing for a fine entertainment. To be selected as a delegate to the National Convention next year means some thing, as a fine time, as well as a profitable one will be had by the member who is lucky enough to be selected. C. W. Morgan Is doing specialty work for The Richmond Baking Co. It Is early to consider preparations for the state convention at Muncle In May, but we should look forward to taking a big crowd to this convention as It will be at a very convenient point and full of good times when you reach there. Did you ever notice how many apparently premature gray heads there are In Post C, how many youthful faces, some round and some square, some long and some short, some good looking, some only fair, some red and some not, that are backed up by more or less of a crop of snow white hair. Funny ain't it? We sometimes wonder what stories of life's troubles and sorrows these boys could relate. They seem to have "fit" life's battle successfully so far, butjat what expense do these tell tale locks tell a story? Not that anyone now knows of or probably ever will. This bunch of hoary headed youngsters referred to may tell that 'tis better to have a head of hair that's gray than no hair at all. That, however, Is hot a matter of choice but an unavoidable condition. We merely mention the above in passing. The report of the National secretary and Treasurer for October reads as follows: Cash on hand $185,580.62 Membership 41,092 Gain over sometime last year 835 Membership Indiana division 5,926 Paid for Indemnity in Oct. . .$15,188.52 Charles R. Puffin, organizer of Post O, its first president in 1892. re-elected In 1893; defeated for state president at Fort Wayne 1893. elected third national vice president 1894 at Milwaukee; defeated for state president at. Lafayette 1894; secured the next annual meeting, Terre Haute, 1895, (at San Antonio); elected a national di- , rector in 1896; elected national president in 1898 at Omaha. All this time, and since, this same Charles R. Dufnn has remained a persistently chronic bachelor, resisting alike the advice of friends and the charms of the ladies. C. 11. Dufnn has in lecturing championed the cause of the down trodden mother-in-law, and has been equally eloquent in telling how to raise grandchildren; yet has remained a bachelor. In Post , his friends labored with him till they grew tired and resigned the task. "But all things come to those who wait." "As long as there's life there's hope." Charlie Is to be married soon. Pass the word along the line where Charley Is widely known. The bans are being published and the ides of November will see Charley a benedict. The happy bride-to-be is Miss Clara B. Frlsi of Terre Haute, and they are to be married at St. Benedict's church and will go at once to housekeeping. What a shout there will be as this couple cornea down the stretch to pass under the wire. Charlie never said.

One For Each Face. A western politician hud quite a reputation in his own town for successful duplicity. It was generally believed that his idea of party principles was to work and vote with the winning side. He once entered the store of a druggist who happened at the time to be opposed to him politically. "I want a Jar of face cream." he said. "Be sanitary, Tom," replied the druggist. "Get two Jars." Success Magazine.

Why the Tsacher Wpt. Every scholar was wearing his best clothes, and every face was beaming brightly. And the teacher's eyes watched grimly lest one small slip should spoil the record of her class, for it was the annual inspection, and the fierce looking man who called him self inspector was putting the pupils through their paces. "Now, boys," he called, "I want you to tell me what Is a blizzard." Silence reigned. "What is a blizzard?" demanded thu ferocious one. And still silence reigned. The teacher glared at the top boy, then nodded to encourage him. and at last there came a look of pleading in her eyes. Almost she wept. Slowly the top boy's hand went up. "Yes?" snapped the inspector. "Go on. Tell me what is a blizzard?" "P-please. sir." stammered the youthful encyclopedia, "it's the the inside of a hen!" London Answers.

Thoroughly Inspected. Goethe was so often intruded upon by the curious in his house in Weimar that one day, made impatient by the determination of an unknown English" man to force nn entrance, be suddenly ordered his servant to show him in. The Englishman entered. Goethe planted himself erect in the center of the room, his arms crossed, his eyes on

Finished the Text. Apropos of mottoes on houses, a cor respondent of the Westminster Gazette relates that a man in Scotland wished to have cut over the door of a new house the text. "My house shall be called a house of prayer." He left the workmen to carry out his wishes during his absence, and on his return bis horror was great to find the quotation completed. "But ye have made it a den of thieves." "We had a wee thing mair room, ye see. so we Just pit in the end o' the verse." was the explanation given by the Bible loving Scot. -

A City of Philosophers. The famous Dr. Samuel Johnson was born In Litchfield, to which town he once paid a tremendous compliment. He had taken Boswell on a visit to Lichfield. "I found," write Boswell. "two strange manufactures for so inland a place, sail cloth and streamers for ships, and I observed them making some saddlecloths and dressing sheepskins. But upon the whole the busy hand of industry seemed to be quite slackened. "Snrely, sir,' said I, you are an idle set of people. 'Sir,' said Johnson, 'we are a city of philosophers. We work with our heads and make the boobies of Birmingham work for us with their hands.' "
