MEETS TUESDAY. meeting of the directors of the Art Association will be beld this evenlog at seven thirty o'clock In Superintendent T. A- Mott's office in the High 'school. Arrangements will be made at this time for the opening of the exhibit of Indiana Artists in the Art Gallery. Tuesday November the twentytrst.
FOR MISS NICHTER. Last evening Miss Leo La Buening and Miss Norma Runge gave a prettily appointed party for Miss Clara Nlcater, the bride-elect of Mr. George Zwissler. The affair was held at the home of Miss Runge in South J street. All the decorations for the rooms where the guests were so charmingly entertained were In yellow and white, chrysanthemums and ferns being used copiously in carriyng out the decorative motif. The evening was spent in hemming towels which at the close of the affair were presented to the brideelect. A delicious luncheon in two courses was served. The guests were Miss Anna Ortman, Miss Springer, Miss Nellie Vogelman, Miss Helen Miller, Miss Mary Zeyen, Miss Hilda tiausepohl, Miss Mildred Lichtenfels, Miss Eliiabeth Korves, Miss Edith Range, Miss Florence Buening, Miss Minnie Nlchter, Miss Clara NIchter, Miss Anna Nlchter, Mrs. James Dillon, Mrs. James Oates, and Mrs. Fred Foley. Mrs. Dillon will entertain Wednesday evening for Miss Nlchter.
MEETING CHANGEO. The evening meeting of the Woman's Missionary .society of the First Presbyterian church which was to have been held Thursday evening of this week has been deferred until Thursday evening of next week. Members are asked to please take note of this change. The program will begin At seven thirty o'clock.

TO CHICAGO. Mr. and Mrs. W. Frank Lehman went to Chicago this morning, where they will spend several days the guests of friends and relatives.
WAS IN INDIANAPOLIS. Miss Alice Maley spent the weekend in Indianapolis the guest of her sister, Mrs. J. J. O'Brien.
MET SUNDAY. The members of the Rosary Confraternity met Sunday afternoon at St. Mary's church. Several business matters of importance to the members were considered at this time.
TO TALK WEDNESDAY. Mrs. K. B. Schafer, who is secretary of the Woman's Convention,, and editor of Lutheran Woman's Work, will give one of her splendid talks at the First English Lutheran church Wednesday afternoon at two thirty. This is the day for the annual Thank Offering meeting of the missionary society. All are invited to attend this meeting.
HAS RETURNED, Miss Fannie Horrell has returned from Indianapolis where she visited with friends for a few days and also attended the Indiana-Illinois football game Saturday. Miss Horrell is a graduate of Indiana university.
FOR MI88 GAAR. Among the many pleasant social events which have been scheduled for Wednesday will be the bridge party to be given in the afternoon by Mrs. Richard Study at the home . of her mother, Mrs. Oliver Gaar in East Main street as a courtesy to Miss Mildred Gaar, a November bride. ENTERTAINED TO DINNER. Miss Katherlne Dobb and Mr. Charles Brown were entertained to dinner Saturday evening by Mr. and Mrs. John Lantz at their home in State street.
PARTY POSTPONED. The bridge party will not be given Wednesday afternoon at the Country club by the members of the November social committee on account of
DANCE THIS EVENING. A dance will be given this evening in the Odd Fellows' hall by Mr. Raymond Grottendick and Mr. Edward Scharff. Piano and drums will furnish the dance music. A number of invitations have been issued for the affair.
RETURNED FROM NEBRASKA . Mrs. M. Kendall, of Chester, has returned from Freemont, Nebraska, where she has been visiting her son, Herbert Kendall. Enroute home she visited her daughter, Miss Emma Kendall in Chicago. Miss Kendall is attending the University of Chicago.
TO GIVE DANCE. Wednesday evening of this week the members of the Jones Saxaphone orchestra will give a dance in the Odd Fellows' hall. The public is invited to attend.
SURPRISE PARTY. Miss Catherine Lahmann was given a surprise by a number of friends at her beautiful country home, one mile east of Chester, Saturday evening. Those enjoying the affair were the Misses Catherine Lahmann, Pearl Rupe, Agnes Lahmann, Nora Kerlin, Anna Lahmann of Richmond, Ind., Viola Rupe and Gertrude Lahmann; Messrs.
