FARM CONGRESSES COIIVEBUH DENVER Conference of Special Interest to Women and Dry Farming Exponents.

r COLORADO SPRINGS. Oct. 14. The greatest event in the farming world of America has brought together a host of delegates to attend the deliberations of the Sixth International Dry Farming Congress in session from Monday till October 20th, and the First International Congress of Farm Women, which convenes a day later than the Dry Farming Congress and closes on the same date. ' The International Congress of Farm Women is an organization fostered by the Dry Farming Congress and aims toward the uplift of the farmer's wife just as the Dry Farming Congress alms toward better crops. The movement was set afoot this year and has met with great success among the men and women of the rural districts. The Dry Farming Congress has surpassed all past records in the number of prominent men who have signified their intention of addressing the assembly and already the delegates that re flocking into Colorado Springs proclaims the largest attendance since its birth. The Sixth Annual Congress will have In attendance six governors of states, ten presidents of agricultural colleges, fifty professors of similar Institutions, fifty members of the United States staff of agricultural experts. half hundred agricultural authorities from different countries of the world and more than three thousand prominent farmers and business men. The rapid growth of the dry farming congress is due to the successful : methods it advocated for reclaiming the arid territory of the West success that has increased the land value of the Western states by a large percentage and increased the agricultural experts of the world. The exposition of dry-farmed products will occupy two buildings and will be divided into two sections the machinery display and the products of the soil. Doth of these have been extensively subscribed to by the farm ers with the result that exhibits will be made from every state west of the Missouri river, from several Canadian provinces and from half a dozen foreign countries. Those in charge of the International Congress of Farm Women have also been active, and the deliberations of this branch of the dry farming congress. The organization looks solely toward the betterment of home conditions among the women of the farm. women writers on farm newspapers and periodicals.' At these sessions views will be exchanged on the life of the farm women from the different parts of the world and definite plans will be adopted looking toward the promulgation of those phases of foreign farm life that may help to lighten the

labor of other women. A list of speakers has been secured for the women's convention that rivals in diversity and eminence that of the dry farming congress. The topics will include every phase of a woman's work on a farm, from going to church to milking the cows.
