(REAL POLITICS WOII MRUOBERTSOri Every Art of Game Employed by D. A. R. Delegates to Defeat Mrs. Gaar.

In an exciting contest on Thursday afternoon at tbe Propylaeum, in Indianapolis, Mrs. Frances Haberly-Rob-tson, of Fort Wayne, defeated Mrs. W. W. Gaar, of this city for the office of state regent of the Daughters of the American Revolution. The occasion was the closing day of the annual convention of the state D. A. R., whith

'has been In session at Indianapolis since Tuesday. A large number of !

Richmond people attended tbe convention, and were much disappointed at the result of the election. When the local delegation arrived in Indianapolis, they found that tbe Robertson faction had established political headquarters in one of the hotels and were prepared to do everything to secure the victory for their favorite. The evening before the election friends of Mrs. Robertson either saw personally or telephoned every delegate to the convention, and asfted them openly to vote for the Fort Wayne candidate. As-soon as the Richmond women realized what tactics their opponents wore pursuing, Mrs. Gaar offered to withdraw her candidacy, but was prevailed upon by her friends to continue in the running. Mrs. James M. Judson, vice-regent of the Richmond chapter, made the speech nominating Mrs. Gaar. Her speech wgg well applauded and the nomination was enthusiastically received by the meeting. The ballotim however, showed eighty-four votes for Mrs. Robertson, and thirty-four for Mrs. Gaar. Mrs. Charles W. Fairbanks, who has all the time been a hearty adherent to the Richmond cause, gave a cheerful "post mortem" talk after the voting, in which she said that Borne other year the ballots might not run the same way, and that she hoped the delegates had chosen a good woman for the office. The minor offices were filled without opposition. Mrs. William A. Cullop, of Vincennes, was chosen vice regent, Mrs. E. Carnahan, state secretary, and Mrs. S. E. Perkins, of Indianapolis, state treasurer. At the invitation of Mrs. James M. Fowler, the 1912 conventiaon will be held in Lafayette. By a change which was made in the

If you are a man and realize that your efficiency is on the wane and that you are losing money and happiness in consequence get a 50 cent box of MI-O-NA stomach tablets today and take two after or with each meal for three days; then take one with each meal regularly until you feel well and vigorous. MI-O-NA stomach tablets disinfect, tone up, restore elasticity to the stomach and intenstlnal canal and end in indigestion. They do more; they increase the nutrition of the body and fn case of nerve exhaustion, sleeplessness, night sweats, bad dreams or any condition that requires a restorative they act with astonishing rapidity. They can be found at Leo H. Fihe's and helpful druggists the world over.

by-laws of the state society, the number of delegates to the convention will be lowered from one delegate for each twenty-five members to one for each fifty. The offices of state auditor, chaplain, and historians were put in the elective class. The time for the convention next year was set for the week in which October eleventh occurs. An advisory committee to consult with the committee on the purchase of the old Harrison house in Vincennes, was appointed and the new body will probably make a trip to Vincennes soon to investigate the situation. Mrs. James Judson gave the report of the work done in the past year by the local chapter, and this city's record was found to compare favorably with that of any other town in the state. Moft of the Richmond delegates returned to this city last evening. Mrs. Gaar remained today in Indianapolis for a large luncheon that was given in her honor. Wednesday evening Mrs. English gave a box party in honor of Mrs. Gaar. The Richmond candidate for regent was the favorite among the Indianapolis women, and the delegates from the state capital headed by Mrs. Charles W. Fairbanks, tried as hard as they could without using the tactics employed by the Fort Wayne delegation to swing the election in favor of Mrs. Gaar.
