FAST TRAINS RUN ON SCHEDULE TIME

Since the service was inaugurated the Pennsylvania railroad's eighteenhour trains between New York and Chicago have made enviable records according to figures made public by the company today. The Chicago-New York flyer, No. 28, has a shade the better on the general pnctuality average, but No. 29 even things when it comes to clean monthly records. In three months it ws not late a minute, and there were nine months in which it was not late more than once in each month. No. 28's best record was made during five months in each of which it was not late more than twice. A new school has almost been put out of existence in the eastern part of Center Township in the last few days as the result of a serious scarlet fever scare in the district. Lester Asbury, a lad attending the school, contracted the disease on September 29, and some of the parents of children in the neighborhood became fearful of an epidemic. On Thursday the boy's mother also became afflicted with the disease, and several of the children at once left school for home. The county health authorities say that there is really little danger of an

epidemic, for -when the case first de

veloped, Mrs. Asbury and her son were quarantined in one room of their home. The boy has practically recovered now, and the county authorities are little surprised that his mother caught the disease from him. The Wayne County officials are not in favor of closing the schools with the first appearance of an epidemic. The county health department says

that when children are sent away from school with nothing to do, they will get together on the streets to play, and will very likely glv diseases to their playmates. On the other hand when they are kept in school, a member of the health department can go to the school every day and examine the pupils for symptoms.
