T. P. A. Notes BY W. H. Q. Post C, through Secretary Hasty, has received a very kind invitation from the Indianapolis Star to contribute to their traveling men's column, which is published each Monday, some items interesting to Richmond traveling men, and also traveling men over the state. This venture on the part of the Star has our beat wishes for success, and there is no doubt that it can be made a very interesting feat" ure for the traveling men of Indiana. It might be said, in this connection, that there probably is no class of men who are better patrons of the Star than traveling salesmen. They usually read their paper at the breakfast table, or going out on the train in the morning. So the Star being a morning paper is read by hundreds of travelers each morning. If an interesting column is printed each Monday morning, giving news of the state concerning "drummers," almost everyone taking the train to the scene of his troubles and joys, dissappointments, and pleasant surprises, would buy a paper if for no other reason than for the news concerning his "fellow sufferers" In the state. We hope the various T. P. A. press cairman, U. C. TVs and others will contribute to make this feature a success. J. M. Lewis, M. K. Shreeve, and Elmer E. Lebo, as per previous schedule, left Richmond Wednesday night for Angola, Indiana, to fish for three days, In the numerous lakes surrounding that city. The expectations of this crowd seemed to be of constrous size for some cause or other. Their talk of what they expected to do was certainly something almost pitiful. However, with plenty of money moat anything. Is possible in this world. The aforesaid followers of Isaac Walton will arrive Sunday morning by fast freight, the express service being inadequate for a realization of their dreams. Put your gun in your pistol pocket and the first one of this crowd that starts to corner you shoot him on the spot. You are justified and no law would handle you. Self protection is the first law of man. Horace Kramer is in Detroit on business. John Zwissler is home from a pleasure and business trip to Madison, Indiana, and Louisville, Ky. Don't forget T. P. A. Boosters Day is Saturday, October 21st. If you know of a good fellow that wants the T. P. A.'s and the T. P. A.'s want him, hand his name to Chairman Lebo. The real genuine good things of this world are not always to be bad for the price of a TrP. A. membership. W. A. Ryan, in the Terre Haute Star, says Klederer of Marion has laid down; his Job. Sorry to see Brother Klederer lose interest. Come back in Mr. K. the water is fine, and besides you had the most of us backed clear out of, the running for a newsy column about T. P. A. traveling men in general. Several Post C members have received an invitation to attend an entertainment and fish fry to be given the National and State officers by Post O, on Oct. 12. This being the home of State Director Cal Branneberg, he will no doubt give the boys something choice. If you want to get "licked" tell Roy Brown that the Richmond Home Telephone Co., is on the "dump cart," or Alexander Gordon that Richmond street . cars, commonly known as "tubs' ought to be split up for kindling, or Ed Thatcher that he seems to have plenty of money since he got to be an alderman, or Shorty Shreeve that his hair needs cutting, or Theodore Hill that his hat looks like ancient Greece, or make a misplay when you are playing partners with Charlie Morgan, or tell Newt. Jenkins that he looks old, or tell M. J. O'Brien he looks like Hegger. or tell John Megger that his trousers are loud and his new white hat IS a back number, or Charlie Plerson that he was the "bummest" musician the old Spartanburg band bad, or Tim Harrington that the Irish are a common . set when the Dutch. are around, or order up your partner's trump when Jim Martin is In the game, or tell Elmer Lebo that his blue necktie is not in style; so take notice. The committees in charge of the Ladles' Night entertainment to be given Saturday evening, Nov. 4th, is busy on a program and we can rest assured that something interesting will be arranged for this occasion. Cliff Caldwell has pulled up his suspenders another notch, swelled up some and imagines he is getting in the Roosevelt class. He Is now papa to a boy, . Congratulations, C. W. The report of the National secretary and treasurer for September reads as follows: Amount in National treasury, $198,633.07. Paid out in September for Indemnity, $22,666.92. Omar Whelan had the misfortune to fall while In Cincinnati and the result was a badly sprained ankle. His early recovery is hoped for. F. C. Zlegenfelder of Troy, O., traveling salesman for the Richmond Candy company was a visitor at the rooms Friday evening.
