SProf. Elbert Russell Agreed " to Instruct Teachers and Substitutes.

In order that more interest will be taken by the Sunday uchool teachers of the city la their work the Young Men's Christian association has arranged with Prof. Elbert Russell, Earlham college, who Is recognized as one of the leading authorities on religious matters in the United States to conduct weekly classes at the association building. The meetings will be held on Friday evenings of each week, commencing on Friday, October 6. The subjects of the studies will be the International Sunday school , lesson which will be given on the Sunday following the class meeting. The body, which will Include teachers and substitute teachers will be strictly admission class, $1 being charged for the course Including twen-'ty-six lectures and a nominal fee for single admissions. The purpose in charging a small amount is two-fold, but chiefly that more interest will be taken In the work. Those promoting

the affair believe that more interest will be taken In the work and closer application paid to it when the teacher's money .Is invested, rather than if the lectures were free. Not only will the teachers be more apt to give the work closer study, but their regular attendance is assured. . All Sunday school officers and the ministers of the city strongly endorse the school and believe that as a result of better preparation on the part of the teachers, the Sunday schools wll do much better work.
