The bulletin has a good word to
say for the child welfare exhibit to be
held In the Coliseum during the two weeks beginning May 11. It says:
"The department of health urges
upon every parent In Chicago the importance of visiting this highly instructive and interesting exhibit. It Is well known that thousands of babies throughout the country die every year
because of lack of proper care. It is
not due to any lack of love on the part
of the parents.. It Is mainly due to the
fact that mothers have not been
taught how to take care of their ba
bies, especially during the summer months. When the weather Is warm
It spoils food, and this Is why so many
babies die. This is why hot weather
kills babies, because it spoils the food.
"Every mother In Chicago should visit this exhibit. It has cost many thousands of dollars and many months of hard work, and it will repay the time spent in studying its many and Instructive phases.

G. E. A.: When you wear a veil face powder will not help your complexion much, as It rubs orf too easily. What you need is a good lotion that will not show on the skin. The next time you go to the drug store get four tiunees of spurmax and dissolve It in one-half pint of hot water, adding two teaspoonsuls of glycerine. Thla lotion will clear up and whiten your akin, make It soft and velvety and give you a beautiful complexion. It will rid your skin of that shiny, greasy, sallow look and make it appear- charming and youthful.. I find this excellent for cold sores, freckles anil pimples. It costs very little and will protect your face from the winds, and prove a
epienaia oeauuuer.
Charlotte: The Quickest wav to
rid the face of Its hairy growth is to employ delatone. This is easy to use and ran be found at any drug store. Oct an ounce of delatone and mix a ltttle with water to make a thick
paste: then spread on hairy surface
and after two or three minutes remove
and wash the skin and you will find the hairs gone. You will have to pay
a dollar an ounce for delatone, but it
worth it as a second aeDlicatlon is
seldom required.
Loella: Premature aging of hair Is
very discomforting and mars womanly beauty, but you tan soon restore the
true blonde and glossy tint If you get an ounce of marlax from a nearby
druggist and steep it In a pint of wa
ter. The hair should be rirst washed with canthrox to remove all oil and
dust, then dried, after which wash with
the marlax tea, rinse in clear water and dry.- Tou will find marlax quite
harmless and inexpensive and It - will
change dull. Streaky, faded hair to a
rich. lustrous golden shade without staining or discoloring the skin. Harriet: For your tired, dull. In flamed eyes you need a good eye tonic. Dissolve an ounce of rrystos in a pint of water. Two or three drops of this in each eye dally will strengthen your eyes and make them bright and sparkling. . This tonlo will not smart and has proven a great aid to those who wear glasses. A friend of mine who
has remarkably clear, beautiful eyes
tells me that she uses this simple tonic regularly to keep them bright and full of expression. I find It excellent for weak, inflamed, tired eyes and granulated eyelids. . Alma: Tour scalp needs a good stimulating quinine hair tonic to remove the dandruff, stop Irritation and falling hair. Get from any drug store one-halt pint alcohol and ene ounce quinxoln and mix it with one-half pint water and you will have a much better tonic than any of those ready-prepared tonics you have been buying. Brush your hair daily and. twice a week, aprly this ton l- to the scalp, rubbing it n gently. This will do wonders for your dull, lifeless, falling hair, and put your scalp in a healthy condition. This tonic will make your hair soft. 'silky and lustrous. Keep the scalp clean -by
frequent shampoos with canthrox and
you will not have further trouble with
your hair.

Cora S.: (a) As your hair is short and
thin and you have so much trouble to
make it stay up and look neat, try i shampooing it twice, a month with a '
teaspoonrui oi rantnrox dissolved in a rup of hot water. This shampoo is the one generally used by the best hairdressers to make the hair look thick and lustrous. It produces an abundant lather, dries quickly and not only cleans the hair and scalp well but stops all irritation and Klves the scalp a feeling of pleasing freshness. Canthrox make a delightful shampoo and will make your hair soft and fluffy. You will have Utile trouble then to make your hair look nice. Never use soap for shampooing, as it makts the hair brittle, harsh and takes away the glossy look. b To get rid of dandruff and stop falling hair, see reply to Alma.

Constance: Right now before warm weather sets in the best time to get rid of facial blemishes such as freckles,, pimples, skin roughness, wrinkles, etc. But you should not use soap on the face very often, as it makes the skin dry and harsh. I recommend the use of a good greaseless face cream, which can be made by dissolving one ounce of almosoln get It at any druggist's) in one-half pint cold water, and add two teaspoonfuls glycerine. Stir and let stand an hour or so. It is inexpensive and you will find its regular use will Improve your skin wonderfully. It keeps the skin soft and satiny, smooth and moist. Almozoin cream jelly is a fine and soothing cleanser and will prevent blackheads, premature wrinkles, and when used as a massage cream will restore color to dark, sallow skin. . ,
Carmen: It is a very easy matter to reduce, your weight without leaving the skin wrinkled and flabby if you only know how. Here, is the secret: Buy at any drug store four ounces of parnotis and put in V pints of hot water. When cold strain and take a tablespoonful of the liquid before each meal. This is harmless and the pleasing way it will cut down your weight will surprise you. Avoiding rich solid foods and taking plenty of xercise will assist greatly in getting rid of your fat quickly.
Inex G.: ton't worry: almost everybody else has the same troubles. At the approach of spring impurities in the blood usually manifest themselves and what you require to overcome the pimply, "muddy" complexion with is a good system tonic and regulator. You can easily make it yourself.. Get from your druggist an ounce of kardene and dissolve It in one-half pint alcohol: then add one-half cup sugar and enough hot water to make a quart of tonic. . A tablespoonful taken before each meal will soon rid your system of poisonous accumulations, and make you strong . and healthy, bringing the rurtdv glow of perfect health to your cheeks.
