t Earlham Baseball Team Gets Fast Game 5 to 3. Earlham won a fast game of basev ball against Antioch college. Yellow ! Springs. Ohio, Saturday afternoon by i the small score of f to 3. The Quaj ker nine was in fine shape and played consistent ball throughout. Richie, the new Earlham pitcher from Kokonio, started the game, and during the first five innings held the Ohioans to five scattered hits, ouly one of which was good for a run. Hays, last year' s star twirler. was substituted in the sixth and pitched a no-hit-no-run game until the ninth, when he was pulled out of a bad hole by brilliant fielding. The Antioch pitcher. Hiddie, struck out fourteen Earlham men, but four hits in the sixth, two stolen bases and two errors gave the cream and yellow nine the game. The fielding of Brubaker, Williams and Moffitt, and the base running of Reagan were features of the game. In the niutli. with two down and three men on bases. Brubaker pulled down a fly from deep left, tripped and rooled over twice on the ground, but came up with the ball safely in hand. Williams ha'd a similar experience in center field in the sixth. A questionable decision robbed Earlham of a sixth run, early in the game, but fortunately it was not needed. First base on balls; oft Hays, 2; off Hiddie 1; two base hits; Brubaker, Funderberg; struck out. by Richie, 3; Hays 5, Hiddie 14; hit by pitcher, Funderberg.
