Mr. and Mrs. Edward Timberlake, of Richmond, were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Hastings on Thursday. Mrs. Charlea King, of Richmond, spent Wednesday with Mr. and Mrs. Homer Klmmer. George Stombaugh, Sr., died early Thursday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. B. F. Ingerman. of East Cambridge, after an illness of several months. He was seventythree years of age. He came to Cambridge City from Blaine county. Penn., in 1860. In his earlier years he engaged in farming. He was married to Mary Davis, of this city. January 11, 1N60. Throe children, George Stombaugh, Jr., Mrs. B. F. Ingerman, and Fren Stombaugh, and one grandchild, Dsvid Ingerman. survive him. The funeral will occur from the home, on Saturday afternoon, at two o'clock. Mr. I. N. Davis spent Wednesday in New Castle the guest of Mrs. Chas. Weaver, and attended a birthday surprise in the latter's honor. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Claypool. and Dr. and Mrs. Miller, of Muncie. have been the guests of Mrs. Virginia Meredith and Miss Mary Matthews at Norborough farm. Frank Morgan was very seriously hurt at an early hour. Thursday morning. He had Just driven across the U E. and W. tracks near the depot, v.-ten a button on his coat caught on a telephone wire and drawn backward in such a manner as to sustain serious injuries. J., they find that wall paper holds and harbors disease germs and hereafter new wall paper will not be pasted over the old, if the board of health has a say in it. It is not exactly new that wall paper is a good breeding place for germs, but Bayonne seems to be the first town to try to fight wall paper as unsanitary. There is to be a home for aged British women in the United States and it is expected that $500,000 will be subscribed for it by the leading women of this country. The funeral services were conducted at the home this afternoon the Rev. Mary Mills, pastor Friends church officiating. Burial at Westside cemetery beside his wife. Mr. Lyons was a member of Co. H, 29th Ind., and also a member of Friends church. He had been in feeble health bpt was stricken with paralysis and lived but a few days. He was born in Fayette county, December 29, 1833. Mrs. Martin Brown has returned from her daughter's in the country. Mrs. Ursula Ferguson of near Bentonville is indisposed. Miss Cora Bennett is indisposed. Mrs. Mary Templin and Mrs. Curtis Little visited Mr. and Mrs. John Snyder and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ad ams at Connersville yesterday. The Embroidery club met with Mrs. Robert Beeson at the home of Mrs. Will Brown Wednesday afternoon. There were eleven members present and all pronounce the afternoon a pleasant one and nice refreshments were served. The next meeting of the club has not been decided upon as to where or what its character. Mrs. W. L. Parkinson went to Alexandra to attend the funeral of her cousin, Mr. Kirkman, one of the policemen who was killed there. The freshmen of Milton high school vs. the freshmen of Cambridge City high school played basketball at that place Wednesday evening. Score 18 to 17 for Milton. Mrs. Frank Rommel and friend were In town a short time yesterday.

Robert Beeson had a calf to diesuddenly. It was a yearling and had eaten its breakfast heartily. A few minutes later the calf was dead.

Mrs. Iafe Stigleman has returned from Greenfield where she attended the funeral of a relative. Ed Allen has purchased the Will Roller property and they are moving into it. Miss Blanche Kerr has returned from Illinois where she sang in a series of meetings. Miss Nettie Lamb spent Thursday in Richmond. L. J. Murdock and family are moving into the Mary A. Roller property on Main street. A. B. Carter is spending a few days in Indianapolis. NEW PARIS, OHIO New Paris, O., March 10. New Paris chapter Order of the Eastern Star will go to New Madison Saturday forenoon for an all day session at which time and place they institute a new chapter of the order at that place. It is expected that some thirty or forty will go up from here and the local chapter will confer the work. Mrs. C. M. Mitchell and Mrs. Nellie Whitaker spent Wednesday with Mrs. John Newman.
