E CLUB
Propose Tax for Boys' Corn Organization.
A plan probably will bo devised by those advocating the continuance of the Wayne county boys' corn; club whereby the townships of the county will bo taxed a small sum to finance the club. The organization was formed in the spring of 1910 and, all the .obligations, Including the exfxfose of sending fifty boys to Purdue unlvernity for one week, were met by a resident of the city. .Inasmuch as the value of the club was. clearly demonstrated, those who backed it last year with their money and time, now believe that the parents of boys who will benefit by the organization rhould take up its management. Hy one of the school laws, it la possible that parents of children between the age- of 6 and 21 years, in townships of the county, outside of Incorporated towns, may be taxed and In this manner the necessary funds raised. The per capita assessment would be very small perhaps only 10 ' and not more than 15 cents each year. Huch an Insignificant tax would be sufficient, however, to meet all obligations of the club, if they were no heavier than they were in 1910. C. W. Jordan, aecretary of the Commercial club and formerly county superintendent Indorses the organization, believing it one of the best educational affairs of the county and conducive of great results.

AN AUTO IS STOLEN
From Mrs. Drummond Following Theft of Jewels.
(American News Service) Chicago, March 10. Chicago police were yesterday searching the city for the new $9000 automobile of Watson
lUalr, which was stolen from under the eyes of Blair's chauffeur, In front of the fllair residence last night while
the owner was entertaining Mr. and
Mrs. Maldwln Drummond at a dinner
party.
Following so closo on the heels of
the robbery of Mrs. Drummond of $130,000 worth of jewels by a thief who entered her suit on tho liner "Amerika" a fortnight ago, the automobile theft caused much good-natured raillery to be aimed at the Drumraonds. They were hailed as hoodoos. Tho taking of "the machine is one of the boldest thefts perpetrated in Chicago in many weeks. The chauffeur heard the machine start and gave chase in another car. but was unable to overtake his own, which is a 1911 model, Packard.
HEH "TRUST BUSTER
Texas Takes Credit for Ousting Storage Egg.
(American News Service) San Antonio, Tex., March 10. When the Texas hen starts in on an antitrust campaign she can do more in three months than the government has done since it took on the effort of "trust busting." The condition of the egg trust today is a sample ot what the old hen can do for organizations which attempt to extort money from the people by cornering a food product. Certain wise financiers saw
great possibilities in controlling the egg market and for a time they succeeded. But when they were in the real zenith of their success, the Texas hen asserted herself and cold storage eggs merely hit the high places in their descent down the toboggan. The first drop was from 40 cents to 33 cents. A few days later came a drop of a dime a dozen. About this time the cold storage men threw a few fits and said a lot of things which have no place in literature. But these performances did not bother the hen. She was on the job all the time and after a time another drop of five cents per dozen came, and eggs are selling today at 20 cents retail, the farmer getting 15 cents a dozen for all he can market. This price gives a handsome profit and many car load shipments are leaving this state daily. The consumer is getting this valuable food product at just half what Is cost three months ago and the egg trust is getting to understand exactly what a "busted trust" means. Few industries have ' grown
so rapidly in Texas within the past three years as that of chicken growing. In many sections of the state large ranches are devoted to it and as a step toward producing the very best poultry, producers have organized as
sociations and spare neither, pains)
nor expense In getting the very best blood. As the result of this, the Texas hen has proven a great factor in striking the egg trust at a vital point.

The family with young- children that ia without sickness In the house now and then is rare, and so it is important that the head of the house should know what to do in the little emergencies that arise. A child with a serious ailment needs a doctor. It is true, but in the majority of inatanoea, as any doctor knows, the child suffers from some intestinal trouble, usually constipation. There Is no sene In giving1 It a pill or a remedy containing an opiate, nor is flushing of the bowels to be always recommended. Rather give it a small doe of a mild, gentle laxative tonic like Dr. Caldwell's Syrup Pepsin, which, by cleaning cat the bowels and strengthening the little stomach muscles, will Immediately cornnct the trouble. This ts not alone our opinion but that
of Mrs. Jf. IT. Mead of Freeport, Kans whose granddaughter has been taking 5t successfully and of Mrs. J. It. Whiting of Lena, Wis., who gives It to her children and takes it herself. It is sold tu fifty cent and one dollar bottles at every drug store, but if you want to test it la your family before you buy it send your address to Dr. Caldwell and he will forward a supply free of charge. Dr. Caldwell does not feel that the purchase ef his remedy ends his obligation. He fcas specialised in stomach, liver and bewel diseases for over forty year and will be pleased to give the reader any advice on the subject free of charge.
