That the princess was murdered because she tried to end a love affaljr with the baron is the general belief. Her husband had already brought frtit for separation and for some tittle Queen Helena has been trying to effect a reconciliation. It is even said
today that the princess had consuUedljyemaa to James Weed, and with each

After the baron had shot her, following her attempt to escape from the room, he stabbed her body three times and then stamped with his heel upon her face. The physicians say that the wounds show that the beautiful woman was stabbed and kicked. That the baron had wanted tho prfficess to flee with him and had fully expected her to do so was shown by the fact that tao railroad tickets were found in his pocket.

'Hairdresser to her royal highness the musk ox' would be the proper designation on the business card of a man up in the Bronx were he not too modest to have such cards, being a keeper in the zoo. The hair dressing is quite a task and takes place in the open twice a week. The man uses the largest size comb and an ordinary hairbrush. Her royal highness has a rich pelage that almost reaches the ground and is straight and silky. It is the man's duty to keep the kinks out. She has got used to the hairdressing business and likes It as much as her two-legged friends do a shampoo. The keeper carefully parts the hair in the middle of her back and combs and brushes her tresses downward. He gives special care to the bangs that come down OTer her ferehead. She stands quietly in the inclosure until the work is over; then the kicks up her heels and runs about the yard. ,

RED MEII TO TAKE
CITY OH WEDHESDAY Hundreds Will Attend District Meeting Citizens Welcome Them. Hundreds of Red Men from the counties of Randolph, Henry, Fayette, Union. Franklin, Wayne will gather in this city Wednesday, March 8, for the annual district meeting. It has been rive years since a similar meeting has been held iu Richmond and the local lodge members are sparing no effort to nuke the event a memorable occasion. The meeting is held primarily for the purpose of furnishing the Red Men authoritative information regarding the unwritten work of the order and other features by a number of the high officials. The sessions will be in charge of O. C. Norris of Rushville, great sachem of the Indiana department, George L. Harper of Madison, great senior sagamore, and Otto Wolf of Indianapolis, great chtef of records. They wilt each deliver an address. Probably the most important and interesting feature from a public standpoint will be the parade which will take place at 7 o'clock. All of the lodge members are expected to participate. The union City Band will furnish music for this and other features. The delegates and visiting members will arrive early In the day and the morning will be given over to registration and organization. At 1:30 o'clock there will be a meeting of allpast sachems for the purpose of conferring the past sachem degree. At 3 o'clock there will be, a general session at which state officers will speak. Following the parade in the evening a class of 25 or 30 candidates will be initiated. The degree teams which will conduct the work have not been determined upon. Merchants to Decorate. Merchants of the city are being re quested to decorate their places of business for the occasion, and there is every indication that there will be a liberal response. It is conf dently expected that the meeting will be one of the most successful In years. The committees in charge of arrangements are as follows: General Carl Baker, chairman: C. W. Ha worth, secretary; E. La Ford treasurer; W. L. Hungerford, E. C. Bond, Bruce Kenney. Music Allen Creager and Gaga Rife. 1 Reception John Baker, R. L. Hungerford, James Snyder, Lewis Kutter, Fred Krone, C. W Genn, Lynn Hayes, James Howarth and Ed Ireton. Program C. W. Genn and E. C. Bond. The membership of the order' in the district is approximately 4,000 while -the state enrollment is more than 66,000 divided among 425 tribes. One of the most noteworthy undertakings of the lodge is the maintenance of an orphans' fund, used for the upkeep of orphans of lodge members. ; At present there are more than 300 orphans in Indiana who are'being supported by this fund. They are receiving from 50 cents to $2.50 per week according to their needs. They are placed either with relaUves or families of lodge members. Elaborate arrangements for a "welcome, home" to William Lorimer when he returns victorious from Washington after his fight to retain his seat, are being made by bis friends here. A delegation will meet him at the railway station tomorrow morning and escort him to his home. The list of members of the reception committee was sent to Chicago newspapers and contained the name of J. Ogden Armour. Mr. Armour, however, indignantly denied he would have any part in a welcome for Senator Lorimer. Other members of the committee are local politicians beaded by John Broderick, who was accused of being Lorimer's bribery' "go between." "Hinkydink" Kenna, "Fire-escape" Nohe. and others.
