A. in the K. of P. hall. Following a street parade in costume, a class of thirteen candidates were "worked" by the degree team. A banquet and smoker concluded the evening's work. J. N. Noakes is grand padishaw of the lodge. Although a special election on an $8,000 bond issue was called off by the Washington, township ,board of education, a central high , school costing this amount having been proposed, it is quite probable that the tax rate in the township will be increased from 5 5-9 mills to 6 1-10 mills by the township trustees and a school building later erected. The school board i now has a fund of $2,000 on hand. Irvln O. Baker, of Lewlsburg, spent Thursday in Eaton with his daughter, Mrs. C. F. Marker. A. V. Miss Jones rendered in her usual pleasing manner the number, Schubert "Impromptu. Mrs. Wallace presented some excellent thoughts for discussion. The song "Sing Me to Sleep" received' many compliments. Mrs. Wilbur Elwell's production was very interesting and showed the evolution of instruments. The Presbyterian Aid society met Friday afternoon with Mr. A. C. Walker. Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Teetor and daughter, Miss Mable Teetor, left Thursday for their trip to California and other points. Their first stop will be at Des Moines,- Iowa, where they will spend ten days with Martin Teetor and family. Stop-overs will also be made at Denver, Salt Lake City and other points.
