Cambridge City, Ind., Dec. 15. Curtis Gosnell is spending the week in Chicago In attendance at the horse show. A very pretty nuptial affair was the wedding of Miss Muriel Converse, -daughter of Mrs. Viola Converse of this city, and John L. Schaller of Alden, N. Y. The wedding took place Monday evening at the home of the bride's mother. There were no attendants, the bridal couple coming down the stairway preceded by the Rev. L. P. Jones, the Universalist minister of Richmond, and entered the parlor to the sweet, soft strains of the wedding march. The ceremony was prononunced under a wedding bell of pink and white roses, with a back ground of palms and ferns. The Impressive ring service was used. The bride wore a beautiful gown of white chiffon over white satin, and carried a shower bouquet of white rose buds tied with chiffon. After congratulations, the bridal couple led the way to the dining room where a three course luncheon was served. Suspended above the table was a floral wedding bell of pink and white. The artistic place cards were tied with pink and white. The bridal couple were the recipients of many beautiful presents. Mr. and Mrs. Schaller will reside with the bride's mother during the winter. The groom has a position with the National Drill company of this city. Among the out of town guests were John Converse of Columbus. O., Donald Converse and family of Indianapolis. Kinsey and Mrs. Lute Lautz, Jr., visited with Mr. and Mrs. James Dolan east of town yesterday. Albert Newman killed a fox on Mr. Wilson's place south of town yesterday. It measured four feet and seven inches from tip to tip. Mrs. Edna Reed of north of Dublin, attended the ailed meeting of the Eastern Star yesterday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Beeson entertained Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Jones, Mrs. Alice Gresh and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Crist Tuesday evening in honor of Mrs. Mary Lindsay. Dr. Gentle of Richmond was at his office here yesterday. Miss Lois McClung is clerking at L. F. Lautz's store. The alarm of fire came from the home of J. L. Manlove, a half mile north of town Tuesday evening and assistance was soon at hand to extinguish the fire which had broken out from between the walls in an upper chamber. It is supposed that the chimney had been on fire at that point and the heat became so intense that the walls were set on fire and this had penetrated Into the bedroom, A number of pieces of furniture including a feather bed were on ire. The plastering was knocked off around the chimney that the fire might be put out and thus the house was saved. Mr. Manlove carries an insurance and the agent made the adjustment yesterday at $150. There were several souvenirs and heirlooms destroyed that cannot be replaced and were not allowed for. Mr. and Mrs. Manlove are very grateful for prompt and active assistance from Milton and Cambridge City. Manlove park Is the old site of the Milford Orthodox Friends meeting and was purchased by Mr. Manlove who remodeled the oid church into a. dwelling' house. The
building is very old, having been erected in 1820. Mrs. R. P. Lindsay accompanied Mrs. Mary Lindsay to Indianapolis yesterday. The latter is enroute home
to Eureka, Kan. f H. D. Huddles ton and wife have moved Into the east part of Mrs. Laura Morgan's house. Mrs. Carrie Johnson is visiting relatives at Indianapolis. Mrs. C. C. Pearson sang at the chapel exercises of the public school yesterday morning. She is hihgly complimented, and is also a very fine mandolin player. Mrs. C. H.
