HEAVY DEMAND FOR RED CROSS SEALS

Thirty Thousand Sent to Richmond Total sales in State to Be $10,000.

Tho total orders seat In for seals Iatt year was for M.OOO.riOO, and the indications are that for this season they will reach 100,000,000. - The Red Crows Christmas seal bureau at Indianapolis has sent 1,000,000 seals to Its selling committees and other agents over Indiana, tho shipments up to this time being about 200,000 more than for the same period last year. Reports to tho bureau from over Indiana are that the demand la running heavy everywhere. The seals are on ealo In nearly 400 cities and towns of this state, and In about 75 county seats. The campaign Is In charge of a club In tho Indiana Federation of clubs. Indianapolis Is leading all the cities In the demand for the seals, about 2.0,000 have been distributed over the city by the Red Cross bureau, and the Flower MlsBlon has taken about 223,000 of the city's totay. A vigorous campaign Is under way at Terre Haute directed by the society for organizing charity, and its ordera to the Indianapolls bureau reach 100,000 seals. Fort Wayne has taken 40.000; Richmond, 20,000; Iaporte. 30,000; Anderson, 27.000; Connersvllle and Kvansville, 15.000 each; New Castle, 7,500. A large number of cities have ordered 10,000 each. The second and third orders to the Indianapolis bureau are running so heavy that additional supplies of 500,000 seals have been ordered from the printers, making the total sent In by the bureau this season 1,500,000. Another phase o ftbe Christmas seal campaign Is reaching the Red Cross bureau, In reports from the colonies of fresh air cottages which have been established Jn various cities with the Another phase of the Christmas seal of last year. In these colonies victims of tuberculosis are fighting for life and a return of health. The cottages are largely made up of doors and windows, thrown open day and night, where tho patients may take the freish air treatment. During the coldest nights tho patients are bravely withstanding the wintry winds, some of porches of the cottages. All of the money raised through the Bales of Christmas seals goes toward fighting the white plague In Indiana, the distribution of the money being through u Red Cross committee at Indianapolis, composed of Noble C. Last year the Indiana sale of Christmas seals amounted to $7,800, while the present outlook Is that it will go well over $10,000 before Christmas day.
