A SIIRE7D SWU1DLE Man Sells Half Interest in a Restaurant which He Did Not Own. BEING SOUGHT BY POLICE After buying a half interest' in a restaurant back of Louis Muth's saloon fof $300, Harry Williams of Cambridge City, found that he was the victim of a swindle. The restaurant was managed by Louis Reason, who was paying Muth a commission. Williams worked In the restaurant a few days when Reason offered to sell out to him. ' Williams purchased the stock and the other man left town and now Is being sought by the police. Williams, however, did not become awsre of the - swindle until a few days after Reason had left town.. Sat urday Muth came Into the restaurant and told Williams he was going to close It Williams objected saying that he was a part owner of the place. It was then the swindle became known and the matter was Immediately reported to Prosecutor Ladd, who Is still Investigating. Announcement was made at the home office this evening that from the latest advices from the storm swept coast south of Naples, the death list In the disaster will total at least 200. Fourteen bodies were recovered today in the storm damaged city of Cetara, on the Gulf of Salerno. The relief work Is still going forward. The cloudburst washed out an entire street and practically all buildings in the thoroughfare were demolished. At Matajorl twenty persons are known to be dead . Reward if returned to Palladium office. flOtf DIED FROM ASTHMA That Calvin Bridgford did not die from plumonary tuberculosis and that his organs were in a healthy condition were facts brought out in the post mortem examination by Dr. Chas. Marvel at Colege Corner on Monday. That he suffered from asthma was another point established but whether or not morphine poisoning was the cause of his death was a point which was not entered into in the examination. ' Although coroner A. L. Bramkamp who was a member of the medical party which witnessed the post mortem examination said that he bad not determined Jrom what cause Bridgford died. It has been intimated he was a suicide. Dr. Grant . Huffman, the physician against whom the accusation was made that he furnished Bridgford with morphine tablets for hypodermical injections, said it was definitely shown In the examination that the man suffered from asthma for which disease be treated him. He further stated that he was not responsible if Bridgford took more medicine than was prescribed, for him. COOMBS GETS OFFER (American News Service) Toledo, Oct 25. Clawson, a republican leader from Indianapolis, will address the voters at Thirteenth and North E streets on Wednesday noon.' He will speak on Thursday evening in one of the smaller towns of the county. Mr. Clawson is not well known in Wayne county, but his reputation as a speaker in Indianapolis is excellent and the central committee expressed - themselves as being well pleased with securing him.
