coming winter an effort will be made to have the tobacco crop discussed in the tobacco sections, corn discussed In corn sections, etc. In this county there are permanent organizations and regular meetings held at New Paris. West Manchester, Eaton, Camden and Lewisburg. All the societies have made application" to the state for aid, but it will be impossible for all to be granted the request. That Eaton will be cut off this year is quite probable, because she has been favored by an agricultural extension school, which is also conducted by the state. Should this be the case, meetings will be conducted independently.

Secretary Harry D. Silver of the agricultural school , Association, has been

informed that the meeting will be held

County Commissioners Find that Many Wayne Countians Against System.

The county commissioners have been testing the sentiment throughout the county relative .to the employment of tax ferrets to collect taxes on seques-

ered property. W. E. Lowe who is serving the county In tbis capacity has asked the commissioners to extend his contract from September S to December 31. 0 ' In Richmond and In the western part of the county there are a large number who are complaining and believe that the county made no good bargain In contracting with ferrets to do the work which rightfully belongs to the county assessor and other county taxing officials. It is doubtful if Mr. Lowe's contract will be extended unless the commissioners find sentiment much different in future visits about the county.
