A meeting of the Commercial Club board of directors was held last night and the report of the building code

committee adopted. The report was

in the form of an ordinance in regard to building In Richmond. It will be

presented to city council at its next

meeting. The directors commented favorably on the advisability of such an ordinance and will make every ef

fort to secure its passage by the city fathers.

Memoirs of Wayne county and Richmond from their settlement down to

the present will be published within

the next year by the Western Historical society if enough subscriptions are

obtained in tbe county. Canvassers for the company are now working throughout the county and over two

hundred subscriptions have already

been secured. Four hundred are re quired.

Judge Henry C. Fox, of the Wayne

circuit court, will be editor-in-chief of

the manuscript, and the editors for special chapters will be as follows: John B. Dougan. banking and finance; Robert L. Kelly, education; Dr. Chas. S. Bond, medical history; W. D. Foulke. literature and journalism; Edward Y. Teas, horticulture and Walter S. Commons, agriculture. The special occasion for the work Is the centennial celebration of Wayne county to be celebrated this falL In addition to the treatment of historical occurrences considerable space-will be devoted to family histories and personal sketches of men, who, by their activities in various lines, have contributed to the progress of . the community.
