SPAIN IS TROUBLED

There Is a Grave Possibility of a Revolution in That Country

MEXICO HEARS THE RUMOR

(American News Service) Saa Antonio, Texas, April 7. Accord

ing to general impressions in Mexico

City, the time is not far off when the

republicans of Spain will plunge that country into a revolution, which according to all estimates cannot fall to

end disastrously for the monarchy,

Mexico City is in many respects a great clearing house for news from Spain. In

addition to a very complete cable news

service the journals of that city main

tain special correspondents in the pe

ninsula and the many Spanish clubs.

some of them of a revolutionary character, have a knack of getting informa tion all their own.

It Is expected that, the favor shown

by the present Spanish government to

the Catholic church and the strangle

hold this institution has on govern

mental affairs in that country will be the direct cause of the upheaval. The grip of the clericals in Spain, as the fate of Ferrier only recently indicated, has become so strong that only little would be needed to re-establish them in the absolute control of the country. Holding the whip hand even now their meddlesomeness and arrogance is driving the conservative element, which so far has stood between the monarchy

and a republic, into the camps of the radicals. Prominent Spaniards in Mexico are of the opinion that a crisis might be averted by the government through the granting of liberal reforms, but to do this the Spanish government seems unable. The laical schools and general lib

eral policies of Premier Sanalejaa have stirred the clericals to desperate action and every day dispatches arrive showing their hostile activities. - Prof. Rafael Altamira of the University of Oviedo, and the admitted leader or republicanism in Spain, who recently toured Mexico and other LatinAmerican countries in behalf of his

cause, has been nominated by the re

publicans of Alicante as their candidate for the Chamber of Deputies. It has been stated that his trip was made for

the purpose of enlisting the sympa

thies of the republicans of Latin-

America. In his lectures he advocated the rejuvenating of Spain along

American lines.

He who has never called a country

town bis home has missed much. He

who had his first look upon the world

from some little village which at the dawn of consciousness Bpelled all the world to him and held In its bounds

all the people, will always lack some

thing in his sense of his proper adjustment to creation. It is in them that the truest friendships are formed, the closest studies of human nature

provided, the most lasting hold given

of these boy off the farms, and you will find that it was from the country

towns, rather; than 'the farms, they came; that it Was some country village

that Inspired the . dreams, fired the hope and prepared for that flight to broader fields. And they go back

The sweeper that we've been talking about, the sweeper you've been reading about, the sweeper that really cleans the carpet or rug.

How Ell WofEss Note that this sweeper rests on the floor and mores over the surface being cleaned, just like pushing an eaay running carpet sweeper no back-tiring pushing down on the handles such as the other cleaners require. After the ordinary suction cleaner has sucked the dirt from the top of the rug, it's work is done; it cannot raise the nap of the carpet or loosen the dirt which Is packed at the bottom. But the Hoover has a beating and sweeping

attachment that strikes the carpet 2,500 light blows each .

minute; this loosens all the dirt and then the sweeping ntv tarhmect running at the same high speed raises the nap of the cloth and loosens all the hard-and-fast dirt on the surface of the rug and the powerful suction current catches it and carries It up to the dust chamber leaving the ear pet absolutely and perfectly clean. We Will Demonstrate Tills Sweeper In Yonr Own Home Well let yon take this sweeper home with you and clean a room and if you don't find that It Is a real sweeper, that It actually cleans, that it win tfave more than Its cost in one year's time In energy, in worry, in saving rugs, carpets, curtains, etc., then bring It back to us.
