Genuine Affinity Scandal Jars Wife and Child Deserted by Aged Spouse for the Reigning Belie of Cy De Vry's Monkeyland.
Chicago, April 5. Have you heard about it? It's the biggest scream of a scandal the busybodies in simian society have had In years. What is it? Why, Napoleon has eloped with Sapho deserted his wife Lizzie scad, little Napoleon, Jr., and their relatives and- social acquaintances are just Quivering with excitement as a result. ' Up in monkey society in the Lincoln park zoo Sapho, a member of the Siamese race of monkeys, has been the reigning belle. She had suitors both young and old, which lavished upon her their affections. The many rich gifts of peanuts and sweet things just had the other residents of the winter colony mad with jealously. r $ . No one had paid any attention , to old Napoleon's flirtation with Sapho. Sapho was waiting in nervous expectancy and ; when he had made his escape they slipped : down the long trellis work . and scampered with all speed toward ' the ; animal house. They were found together, cooing and 'making love on the front porch of the place by a keeper, and the head animal ; keeper. Cy , De Vry, carried the pair back, to their cage. Mrs. Lisxie Napoleon, - ex-wife now, when seen yesterday by a reporter on her perch," denounced the erring Napoleon in vitriolic invectives. She was cuddling her little Nap in her arms, and her face showed traces of weeping. "You can say for me that thai old battered faced ..mat neTer , even contributed a peanut to my support while we lived together." she chattered ex
