TO ALSO TALK DRAINAGE At the meeting of the township trus tees Thursday, in the office of County Superintendent, C. W. Jordan, one of the matters to be discussed will be tne accounting law. At the present time there are two field examiners for the state board of accounts at the court house, examining the records of the trustees, and consequently their investigations will be watched by the officials. , At present the examiners are working on the accounts of the Wayne Township trustees. The accounts of the other trustees will be taken up and examined before the field examiners leave the city. The township trustees, so far as known, are in sympathy with the law. If there are any irregularities in their accounts they want to know of them. It seems probable to presume that some irregularities wiil be found, owing to the loose methods practiced in past years in keeping records. However, it is not believed that these irregularities, if any, were the result of dishonesty. The drainage law will also be discussed by the trustees, following the reading of a paper by Township Trustee J. C. Taylor, of Dalton township. WIZARD" IS DEAD (American News Service) Denver, March S. Jacob Schaefer, "wizard" ex-champion billiardist, died at noon. A Plateau In Papua. The most singular plateau In the world is in the island of Papua. The plateau is 6,000 feet above the sea. and there are summits towering 5,000 feet higher, but owing to the proximity of the equator the great plain is covered with luxuriant vegetation. The climate is a perpetual May, birds sing in every bush, and the only animals are a few marsupials, such as ground kangaroos and opossums. Yet this lovely region is almost deserted. The Papuans live in the sweltering coast jungles and only occasionally stray to the uplands.
