FIERCE GALE NOW RAGES (American News Service) New York, Jan. 22 The steamship Campania, a fast Cunard liner, due this morning, failed to arrive and great anxiety was caused by the fact that no wireless communication has been had with her since she left Queenstown. A terrific gale sweeps the Atlantic coast today. One schooner, three barges and one tug were blown ashore on Long Island today. SEINE ON RAMPAGE And It Is Feared the Famous Eiffel Tower Will Be Undermined. FLOOD LOSSES ARE HEAVY (American News Senric) Jaris, Jan. 22. Eiffel tower is in imminent danger of collapsing, owing to the undermining of the foundation, caused by the rapid rise of the Seine. The other adjoining buildings are also in danger. The losses from floods are estimated at ten million dollars and hundreds are homeless.

Fraternal organizations are taking it up. Twenty lodges of Modern Woodmen of the World, pledged a meat boycott at Louisville. A monster mass meeting against the high prices is to be held in Boston tonight. The hotels are announcing vegeterian menus in several cities. TAFT PLANS A TRIP (American News Service) Washington, Jan. 22. At the white house, it was announced today, that President Taft will visit Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Louisville and Memphis the week of February 22. KILLS THREE WHITE MEN. Magee, Miss., Jan. 22 A negro, named Tom Ross shot and killed three white officers while resisting arrest, near here last night. Ross was himself killed and a race riot is threatened. Greenfield, Ind., Jan. 22. The safe in the office of the Terre Haute. Indianapolis & Eastern traction company was blown here last night but the yeggman failed to secure any loot. A heavy charge of nitro glycerine was used and the safe was blown clear across the room and the wall of the office badly demolished. INTERPRETER FOR PASTOR A novel service will be held at the St. Paul's Episcopal church on th eevening of Sunday. Jan. at 7:." o'clock. The service will be for the benefit of deaf mutes, although those who still retain their hearing faculties are also invited. The pastor, the Rev. D. C. Huntington, will deliver the sermon, while the Rev. Austin W. Mann will stand at his side and Interpret his talk to the deaf mutes. The sermon will be a short history of the educational and religious movements among the silent people and a brief explanation of the universal sign language, which plays such a prominent part in the lives of the deaf mutes. It Is requested that every person in Wayne county who can not hear or speak, attend this service as it will be of great benefit to them. The Rev. Mr. Mann, who 13 the advocate of the movement, held his first service at the Episcopal church in this city about thirty years ago, during the rectorshio of the late Rev. Dr. Wakefield. Unfair.
