A HARD OPE
Performed on Small Spokane Woman, Known as the Caesarean Section.
REMARKABLE COINCIDENCE
Spokane, Wash., Jan. 20. Surgeons In Sacred Heart hospital In Spokane successfully performed what Is known as a Caesarean section in. the accoucbment of Mrs. C. W. McKane, 5 East Montgomery avenue, delivering a healthy and well proportioned girl baby weighing seven pounds. Mother and infant are living. A remarkable coincidence in connection with this case is that Mrs. McKane was brought into the world in a similar manner, her mother, Mrs. J. Beedle, having submitted to a CaeBarean section at fit. Paul, 20 years ago. Mrs. McKane weighs between 75 and SO pounds and could be put in the midget class, while her husband is of average stature and proportions. She is possessed of a remarkable constitution and reserve vitality, which surgeons and attending nurses at the hospital say stood her in good stead during the operation and in rallying from the effects of the anaestetic. Operations of this nature are fraught with danger and result fatally more than otherwise. There Is a legend that Julius Caesar was born this way and it is from that the operation derives its name.

Talking all day about our "great sale," about "unprecedented bargains" etc., doesn't mean anything to you who buy the shoes. What you want to know is what we offer that makes our sale stand out from others. You want to know where you can best spend your money. Before you come here you want to know why? So in answer to your "why?" we say "because." It's a Sure Saving We don't advertise leaders to bring you to the store and when we find we can't fit you, try to sell you something at the regular price. All our shoes are reduced and we can please and fit you in something. The only fair way to have a shoe sale is to reduce everything. It s a Safe Saving You have to take the dealer's word for what you are saving. We're going to continue in business here and we know that the people who are attracted to our stores by the unusual prices must get just what we advertise. The shoes must be good. Our future business depends upon it. That's the reason for our written guarantee. It isn't a question of unloading goods to raise money; it's a question of our future trade. It's a Bigger Saving Figures speak louder than words here, comparisons prove. In odd lots some of these odd lots had several hundred pairs of shoes in them. $5.00 Colored Suedes at half price..:. $2.50 M. & K.
