HOW REAUIAOGHTY Hanly's Law Partner Puts His Signature on Saloon License Bonds.

MUST MAKE ARTMAN BLUSH

(Palladium Special) Indianapolis, Ind , Dec. 7. Considerable comment was heard here yester

day afternoon when it was learned that the name of Charles V. McAdams was

signed to saloon license bonds as attor

ney in fact for a surety. company which

signed the bonds as surety for saloon keepers who applied for licenses. McAdams is a law partner of J. Frank Hanly, the firm name being Hanly, McAdams and Artman, the latter being Samuel R. Artman, formerly circuit judge at Lebanon, who decided that the saloon is an evil and that the state has no right to license an evil. Persons around the office of the county commissioners sat up and took notice when ' they saw McAdamss name signed to twelve of these saloon bonds. McAdams explained, however, that he had nothing to do with the business except to sign the bonds as the attorney for the surety company, which his law firm represents.
