Lacey. july27 tues&sun tf IS HOI BADLY HURT Frank Metzger, the young man who was injured at the Murray theater yesterday afternoon when the cornice of the front of the building pulled loose and toppled over him amid a shower of bricks and mortar, is not as seriously injured as was at first supposed. It was thought at the time that the young man had been fatally hurt, but an Investigation later disclosed the fact that the report was erroneous. An ugly scalp wound about five inches long, but not deep, is practically the extent of the boy's injuries. The wound is not considered serious and Metzger will probably be sent home from the hospital tomorrow or perhaps this evening. INCREASE IN STOCK The Richmond Evening Item is now capitalized at $20,000, articles having been filed with the secretary of state, today for a $10,000 increase in the capital stock. The stockholders assume this method of paying off loans niads to the company in the past. William Dudley Foulke. president of the company stated today that Mrs. Caroline Reeves, Mrs. James Morrison and himself had loaned the company money. George Mo Cullough, owner of $100,000 worth of bonds and practically all of the preferred stock, was i-resent demanding that a receivership sale be ordered. George C. Hitt. receiver for the company, showed that be has $125,000 cash on hand and that the net earnings for the year ending August 31. 1909 amounted to $133,459. The surplus was $84,129 after deducting all of the fixed charges. The hearing was completed yesterday and Mr. Daniels will make a finding within the next month. CHINK OFFICIAL DEAD. Richmond has some of the finest American machines and the parade should be an attractive feature. Every automobile iu th city will be out in gay color. The days celebration will be triumphantly closed by a band concert and fire works display at the Warner school on North Seventh street. The pyrotechnics will to the finest ever displayed In the city and It will be a good chance for the visitors to see the creations in this line.
