SLtUTHS Oil TRAIL
New Paris, O., July 15. Since the unsuccessful attempt to loot the strong box in the postofflce at Lewisburg a few weeks ago much "sleuth" work has been attempted by the town officials and populace generally. Every time a stranger shows u, if his personal appearance shows evidence of traveling as "Weary Willie," he is waltzed to the calaboose and closely examined for a knowledge of the affair. It is said that scarcely a day passed, last week without the apprehension of some suspect.

STATES PROPOSED . "RIPPERBILL WOULD MAKE SPIES OUT OF LOT OF ONE-HORSE LAWYERS IF PASSED.
Indianapolis, July 15. State Senator Robert E. Proctor, of Elkhart, the apostle of liberality, who has - been fighting the battles against county local .option was In the city yesterday, to represent a Fort Wayne, physician who has been called on the . green carpet by the state board of medical examination and registration. : He did take time enough to say a few things about the reported plan of the AntiSaloon league to secure the passage of a state wide prohibition law at the next session of the legislature. If there la anything la the wide earthly . : , i ... . i ;
world that Senator Proctor loves it is the Anti-Saloon league. Proctor's Views. "They will not pass a prohibition bill at the next session of the legislature, or I am badly mistaken," he said. "They are not going to get prohibition in this state. I see the Anti-Saloon league says it will but I don't yrlnk so. They say also that they are going to have a ripper bill passed that will make spies and informers out of a lot of one-horse lawyers who have no business of their own to attend to. The league, so I am informed, proposes to ask for the passage of a bill that will give any lawyer the right to file an affidavit and begin a prosecution of any person for the ' violation of the liquor laws, thus ignoring the prosecuting attorney of . his country, whose sworn duty and whose sole province it is to conduct such prosecutions. Now. wouldn't that be a fine thing? It would make a lot of informers and spies out of these lawyers. I do not believe the people will favor any such law as that. Reached Its Limit. "I believe this so-called temperance wave has reached its limit in Indiana. I hate to use the word temperance in connection with local option and the Anti-Saloon league however. It has run its course, and from now on you will see a reaction." Senator Proctor was an Interested spectator at the trial of Dr. John H. Seneff, of French Lick, before the state medical board. Dr. Seneff is charged with writing prescriptions for
whiskey for anyone that applied to
him. Orange county, In which French Lack is located, is a dry county, and the charge is that Dr. Seneff did a good business in the booze line. Dr. Seneff denies the charge.

Deafness Cannot Be Cured by local applications, a they cannot reach the diseased portion of the ear. There Is only one way to cure deafness, and that Is by constitutional remedies. Deafness Is caused by an Inflamed condition of the mucous liningof the Eustachian Tube. When this tube is Inflamed you have a rumbling: sound or Imperfect hearing-, and when It Is entirely closed. Deafness Is the result, and unless the Inflammation can be taken out and this tube restored to its normal condition, hearlne
will be destroyed forever; nine cases
out of ten are caused Ty uatarrh, which is nothing; but an Inflamed condition of the mucous surfaces.
