The northeast "White Caps" got busy Saturday night and swooped down on one of their numbers and treated him with music, ice cream and cake. Mr. Jackson's 51st birthday anniversary was June 6th. George Bales of Losantvllle, died Saturday evening. ,' Lee Stamm of Ohio, spent Sunday here. Mrs. Stamm met him at Richmond Saturday evening. June is here with us in all her glory, the month of brides and roses, but both are going to be scarce in this part of Wayne county this season. Alonzo Edwards made his usual Sunday Journey to Richmond, June 6th. Nicholson Bros, of Sugar Grove have finished papering for B. W. Clark. The children, grand children and treat grand children of Mrs. Rebecca Edwards will hold their annual reunion at the old home, one mile east of town Sunday, June 20th. MiBS Rena Clark has arrived from Kendallville where she taught in the public schools the past three years, to spend the summer vacation here. Thomas Swain, who reached the seventy-ninth mile of his life's journey Sunday, June 6th, was remembered by his children and grandchildren in a family, reunion Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lina Swain with a big dinner thrown in. Those of the family present were: Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Swain and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Elihu Swain, Mr. and Mrs. Joshua Ballenger, Mr. and Mrs. Seward Ballenger of Windsor, Mr. and Mrs. Dad Bowsman and three children, Hagerstown; Oliver Norman and three children, Richmond, Mr. and Mrs. John Osborn and two daughters 'of Richmond, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Replogle and two children, Mr. and Mrs. E. N. Ulry of Modoc, Mr. and Mrs. Burnie Swain, Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Bowman and two children and other relatives of the family were: Mr. and Mrs. Job Swain, Cyrus Gwln, Mrs. L. Marshall, Mrs. Martha Good, Mr. and Mrs. G. Study of Center, and Thomas Marshall of Washington, D. C. Bernle Swain and Seward Ballenger furnished the music. Fifty people were present. Mrs. Hannah Kimball entertained Dr. J. B. Clark . and wife and Miss Belle Cauley at dinner, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Knode of Richmond, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Cook. Sunday afternoon. Mr, and Mrs. Thomas Bradfield of Richmond, were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Bowman. Clayton Snjlth, Bobb Todd and Byram Beard were at Williamsburg, Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Hulda Haxton is now back in her own home after spending several months with Mr. and Mrs. Deck Haxton. Mrs. Raymond Daugherty and son were guests of Mrs. Maura Lamb recently. Henry Petry, a prominent and retired farmer, who has v been confined to the house for many weeks because of an injury to one of his toes, and who had the members amputated by Dr. Beane, is thought to be compelled to have his foot cut off if he would save his life. This conclusion was arrived at yesterday, after a consultation of the local physicians with Surgeon Bowers of Dayton. The laying of the corner stone of the Unlversallst church here Sunday was attended by quite a number of people from the neighboring churches. The committee formulated an excellent and interesting program, which was heard by the many present with deep Interest. The day was Meal, and the fine shade trees proved to be a pleasant place from which to hear the speakers. Rev. Sara Stoner gave , a highly instructive talk on character building. Rev. J. H. Blackford made an interesting historical talk, ad Dr. B. F. Beane read a paper which made plain what the Unlversallst church stood for In this community, what it had accomplished in Eldorado" fax the past, and what It hoped to do as an Institution for character buildlnc in the future.

The special exercise in the evening warn pretty and consisted largely of drills, choruses, etc. A flower drill by twelve young girls was especially beautiful and nicely given. The offering was the largest in the history of the Sunday school and approximated thirty dollars.
