Everist Cathell, for lyceum and Chautauqua purposes, read before the Ministerial association this morning. Its keynote was the great need for unity and eliminatio-i of sectarianism, in favor of a united Christianity. His idea Is that there should be less strife for supremacy on the part of the followers of different creeds. 1 The paper was discussed by the mlnistersand all highly approved of K. DISHONEST KILLS HIMSELF Bloomincjton Official Commits Suicide Today. Bloomington, Ind., April 26. Marti a Matthew, former trustee of Bloomington township, committed suicide with a shot sun this morning. An expert accountant. Reilly, reported that Matthews' accounts are out cf balance by twenty-flye thousand dollars. He bad been notified to make good. Mr. Matthews was sixty-five years old an! greatly respected by all who were associated wiOi him. GRANTED A DIVORCE Mary Etta Kennedy of Henry County Gets Separation Here. SAID HUSBAND WAS CRUEL , Because of cruel and inhuman treatment and failure to provide. Mary Etta Kennedy, was granted a divorce from Hailan Kennedy in circuit court today. One paragraph of the complaint asked to have the marriage annulled, but the divorce was granted.. The case was brought to this county from the Henry circuit court. The plaintiff said she married : the defendant, who went through tbe ceremony under the name "Kennedy." A few months after the marriage, it was claimed tbe defendant tired of the plaintiff and left her, telling her he had been married under an assumed name, which made th a contract void. HAD VERY NARROW ESCAPE MAN WAS POUND AT THE SIDE OF A ROAD SATURDAY NIOHT BY LOCAL PHYSICIAN WHO THOUGHT HIM DEAD. A New Madison, Ohio resident named Warner, no doubt a "wet." and also an automobilist, visited this city Saturday night and improved business, at least for th saloonlsts. He came near making it a job for the coroner and undertaker. Jag and also filling up the back por tion of his machine with boose, he started for borne. After going a distance of about tbree miles on the New Paris pike, his unsteady arm ran the machine off the road into the ditch. Warner was thrown out and under, the machine which, fortunately, for Warner, was prevented from turning clear over by a fence post. Starts Investigation. Warner, Instead of crawling ' out from his precarious position went to sleep on the soft ground.' A local physician was passing the scene of the accident and fearing that some one was hnrt started an investigation. He called to see if any one was hurt but on receiving no answer crawted under the machine and stumbled onto Warner. Havins received no replies to bis call he naturally supposed that the man wai dead or sp badly injured as to be rendered unconscious. Warner finally awoke and an grily demanded to know what wr.s tbe mat ter. The physician was somewhat astounded at this cuery. He inquired as to Warner's injuries and. on being told that he was unhurt, be advised tbe man to set out of tbe ditch and make his bed on drier ground. Warner, however was too drunk to obey. He gave a grunt or two. turned over and resumed . his slumbers. Several farmers living in tbe neighborhood went to the scene of tbe accident.
