Joseph White, Jr., who has been suffering from appendicitis, is much improved. Grant Colby is out on the road this week looking after the safety gate business. Silas Hoerner is laid up with an attack of rheumatism. . The condition of Mrs. Sullivan, the aged mother of Maurice Sullivan, who broke her hip by a fall last week, is quite serious. Miss Lydia Bonn who had been visiting in Richmond, has returned home. Willie Glenn has taken the place in the telegraph tower relinquished by Denver Hapner, and has assumed bis duties. Willie is amply- qualified to do the "trick" and will undoubtedly make good. It is his intention to work this summer and go to school again next winter. Mrs. McMechen of Eaton Is visiting her sister, Mrs. J. M. Sawyer. Miss Hattie Smith is here from Rich mond for a short stay. Miss Mayme Tillman returned home Thursday morning after an extended visit with relatives at Greenville. , Mr. Harry McKeon and children, spent Wednesday with relatives at Greenville. Mr. Claude Dowler, who is now In Washington, D. G, will soon leave there for Omaha, Nebraska. The Domestic Science club met with Mrs. L. H. Reid Wednesday afternoon. It is with a great pleasure that we are able to announce that the Tuesday club will again conduct a flower raising contest for the children of New Paris the coming summer. Prizes will again be awarded and every possible thing done to make it even a greater success than was the one conducted last summer, which gave such universal satisfaction and pleasure to contestants and parents and citizens generally. Miss Blanche Fennimore arrived from Muncie Wednesday. Robert Wilson moved his family to Modoc where he will work for J. W. Taylor this year. The Economy commencement will take place March 26 at the high school building. A splendid program will be arranged for the occasion. There are nine in the class, five girls and four-boys: Edith Knapp, Louise Manning, Frances Lindsey, Jessie Secrest, Harold Williamson, Paul Oler, Charles Franklin and Charles Edwards.
