were privileged to attend. Miss Ethel Patton also sang two numbers in a beautiful and intelligent manner. The program was concluded with several movements from the Italian Symphony, Op. SO. played by Mrs. Carl Meyer, Miss Nina Harris. Mrs. Klrode and Miss Elizabeth Hascmeier.

An event of interest in the
world last evening was the wedding of Mr. Edward L. Spencer and Miss Mar- j tha Ellen Yoder, sister to Mrs. C S. McCoole. The affair was very informal and was celebrated at the home of the bride's sister on South B street at fivethirty o'clock. Cut flowers, palms and ferns were used in decorating the various apartments. The ceremony was performed in front of a pyramid qf palms by the Rev. Thomas J. Graham of the First Presbyterian church. The bride was beautiful in a handsome gown of satin mousaeline elaborately trimmed with lace. She carried an arm bouquet of cream roses. Mr. and Mrs. Yoder of Decatur, 111., father and mother to the bride, were the. only out-of-town guests. Immediately after the ritual a dinner in several courses was served to the guests. The latter appointments were in pink and white. Cut flowers were also arranged tastefully about this apartment. Mr. and Mrs. Spencer went immediately to their newly appointed home 220 North Eighth street. They have the best wishes and congratulations of their host of friends in this city. Mr. Spencer is a well known jeweler of this city. He has been prominent
in Bocial circles, and is a popular member of the Elks' lodge. Several social functions were given in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Spencer during the past week. j J Mr: and Mrs. J. M. Thomas entertained to dinner today several guests in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Thomas who were married last evening. Miss Ethel Patton, Mrs. Fred Bartel, Mrs. Otto Krone and Mrs. Krueger. The three songs from Mendelssohn, (a) Harvest Ssong. (bi Hopes and Fears, tc) Weleome to Spring, as sung by- Mrs. Krueger, were very beautiful. She has a rich voice, being full of sweetness and tone quality. Mrs. Krueger '6 numbers are always greeted with applause by those who hear her. The next number on the program was instrumental and was played hy Mrs. CathelL Mr. Raymond Swing sang two numbers (a) O, Rest In the Lord, and (b) God; Have Mercy. The number by Mrs. Hunt and Miss Ross was greeted by a loud applause. They were compelled to answer to an encore.
