LOVE BETWEEN TWO WRESTLERS
Customary Handshake May Be Relegated When Olson And Demetral Meet.
THIRD MATCH ON FRIDAY
EACH MAN HAS SECURED ONE DECISION AND BATTLE FRIDAY NIGHT WILL" BE A "RUBBER" PRINDLt AND LASALLE MEET. ' ' - f When the mighty Olson clashes with Demetral, the-English champion, at the Coliseum Friday night, local wrestling followers are confidently expecting to see one of the greatest mills ever held at pit big' auditorium. The men have a' cordial dislike for one another and .tP sjp.are. the twp men any cmbarrassment; it is . very probable that the customary handshake before the contest starts ;iH be dispensed with. Demetral -defeated- Olson once at Tampa, Florida, in one of the great
est wrestling bouts ever witnessed in ihe southern city, but 4n. Indianapolis on a later date, Olson defeated Demetral. The match here will therefore be in the nature of a "rubber," and both men will fight from the "scratch" in order to register a victory. Demetral, since his bout in Indianapolis, where he alleges he not only had. 10 wrestle Olson, but the Indianapolis police force- and 'spectators as well, has steadfastly refused to meet Olson unless he could be guaranteed that he would have no, similar difficulty again. When Manager Charlson went to Chicago recently to book Demetral, the big wrestler first asked if Richmond was a city where he could get a "square deal." On receiving the assurance that the followers of the wrestling game jn Richmond stood for the best man and its favorites were only the best men, Demetral withdrew all objections he had against meeting Olson here and signed the contract. Charlson was delighted with Demetral's agreement to wrestle Olson in this city, as he says it is the greatest match he could possibly arrange, it being'his star bout of thtf local season. The preliminary contest between LaSalle and Prindltf will. be equally exciting, as both men are clever and popular favorites ' in Richmond. The crowd was with Prindle when he wrestled "Germany" Busch in the first contest ever held here. It was the same with LaSalle when he wrestled the Turk. Both men are fa!st and this contest alon will be as good as any yet witnessed here. It ia very probable that Manager Charlson will be favored with the largest crowd of the year.
WANTS NEXT MEET Earlham College in Field for I. C. A. A. L. for Track Contest. HOLD MEETING SATURDAY ' John Hancock, '10, the Indiana Col
lege Athletic league delegate from Earlham, and member of the financial ' committee, has been notified by the president of the league that a meeting will be held at the Denison hotel In In-
dianapolls Saturday morning at eleven o'clock. The meeting place of the fifth annual track meet will be decided upon and It is probable that De Pauw and Butler will ask for admission to the league which is now the leading athletic organization of the state. Hancock is Instructed to bring the track and field games to Reid Field if possible, as the local college is conceded to have a great chance to win the championship this year. Wabash, succeeded in beating the Quakers last year by winning the 220-yard dash from Conrad by a few inches. This year every Quaker point winner is in college. Wabash has signified her intention of casting her vote for the Earlham field. Squabble Predicted. A lively squabble is anticipated over awarding the football championship which will also come up in this meeting. Rose, according to her scores, having defeated Wabash, Earlham, Franklin and State Normal, should be awarded the pennant, but that Wabash had a better team, few Rose men will gainsay. Wabash will probably try to keep a decision from being rendered. It is understood that Hancock will vote to admit De Pauw should she ask admittance. He will also vote for Rose as foot ball champion.

FRESHIES MAKE TEAM
EFFORT MADE TO I ORGANIZE LEAGUE Newcastle Polo Fan Backs Scheme.
The manager of the New Castle, Ind., polo team is anxious to form a polo league and has written to one of the City League players to help him push the movement. The New Castle man states that he thinks "he can interest Elwood, Alexandria, Tipton, Marion, and Noblesville in placing teams ia the league. It ia planned to place this league in the field after the first of next year. The City League will start its seas
on next week with four fast teams and Richmond people will undoubtedly ee
as fast polo from this source as could be furnished by a tin can league as proposed by the New Castle dreamer.
"Speed:" "Speed:" "Speed!" was the cry of Coaches Holmes and Vail
at Earlham basket ball practice last night. It appears that weight will cut little figure and that speed is the only asset
which will win a varsity position this
year. ,
Coach Holmes, who is in charge of the varsity, picked Hotchkiss, Rees, Conrad, Cornell and H. Furnas, all exceptionally fast men, for the first team, last night, disregarding such heavyweights as Lindley, the foot ball tackle, Swain and Overman. All of these men were on the varsity Squad last year. Much time was spent in passing in triangle formulation and several plays and a set of signals were given out. It ia now definitely known that Capt. Wilson will not return and it is not thought that Newsom will be in college. This leaves only two of last year's champion five and the task of developing the other three men will be a great task for the coaches. However, the students place great confidence in Hotchkiss and Hancock, the two veterans, and the Freshman class has furnished some remarkable material in Cornell, Rees, Morrisoh and H. Furnas. The two California men H. and Wr. Tebbits are also showing up well.
Figures show that 7,418,200 speeches, making about 200 tons of published matter, were distributed by the Government Printing Office at Washington during the recent campaign.
The annual production of raw silk in Indo-China may be estimated at2,400 pounds. There aremany large regions beyond those now engaged in the industry which are adapted for its adoption, and the administration is making considerable efforts to encourage it. Land planted with- mulberry, trees has , been exempted from tax for five years.

The Holiday rush is on. To secure the best and most for the money is the uppermost thought. The question of price is one that must be reckoned with by nearly all of the people. It has always been the first and most vital part of this store to have prices right, tc sell goods on the smallest possible margin of profit, consistent with safe business methods. The old antiquated idea that it is honest and good business to try and get exhorbitant, unreasonable profits from the unsuspecting has never had a place in this business. We give one and all the lowest and only price without the asking. We do not mark goods from 10 to 50 per cent above value in order to be able to give make-believe reductions. We are better prepared than ever before to. supply your Christmas wants. The stocks are larger, the variety and price range broader. You are most cordially invited to inspect our store for your enjoyment as well as profit. Sincerely,

Affairs of the Sporting World
Demetral, the great Greek wrestler, arrived in the city yesterday afternoon, bringing with him his English light heavyweight championship belt, which is on exhibition at the Emmons & Chenoweth cigar store. Charles Olson will arrive on the field of battle today. Up at Anderson Tuesday night they
sicced Olson on some dub calling himself Young Hackenschmidt. After they had carried him out of the building with a snapped tendon in his arm Olson disgustedly remarked, "I didn't even get a good workout with him."

The baseball congress and the national congress are in session, respectively in New York and in Washington. It is needless to state which organization the American citizens have their eyes glued upon. The National Baseball Commission decided yesterday not to act upon the demands of the American Association and Eastern League until it met at Cincinnati, January 1. This was done so the "microbe" leagues would have the opportunity to prepare arguments against the demands of the two big Class A organizations.
