LABOR LEADERS DEFY M COURT Violate Injunction Against the Boycott of Buck Stove Company.

GOMPERS IS AN ANGRY MAN.

8AYS WHEN IT COMES TO CHOICE BETWEEN HIS AMERICAN RIGHTS AND INJUNCTION, HE WILL TAKE FORMER.

Washington, July 21. In the Bucks Btove and range case. Justice Anderson of the district supreme court has summoned Samuel Gompers, president of the American Federation of Labor; Secretary Frank Morrison of that organization and John Mitchell of the executive council and ex-president of the United Mine Workers of America, to annear In court on SeDt. 8 to show

cauae why they should not be punished for contempt of the court's injunc

tion order. The citation is based on a petition of the Bucks Stove and Range company of St. Louis, which alleges that an order issued by Justice Gould forbidding an alleged boycott by the Amerlcan Federation of Labor has been violated by the public utterances and addresses of the labor leaders named. It-also is stated that Gompers caused

courtfB. decision and, in alleged open defiance, printing the name of the Bucks Stove and Range company in the "We Don't Patronize" list. Gompers is quoted as saying to newspaper men: "So far as I am concerned, I wish to state this: When it comes to a choice between surrendering my rights as a free American citizen or violating the Injunction of the courts, I do not hesitate to say that I shall exercise my Tights as between the two." John Mitchell, at a meeting of the United Mine Workers last January, put to a vote a resolution imposing a fine of $5 on any member of that organization who purchased a stove or range of that company's make. The resolution also provided for the expulsion of a member in default of payment of the fine.

Woman's Delicate Hands. It's a shame how some women abuse their hands. Yellow soaps make Ihem red, coarse and hard a source of annoyance and humiliation. Easy Task soap, the white kind, keeps them soft and dainty as they should be. Won't you take our suggestion In washing dishes always use Easy Task, your hands will improve in appearance and you will also see a difference in the dishes.
