HERRICK NOW OUT OF SENATORIAL RACE
Will Fight Burton for Foraker's
Place.
Cleveland, O., Juluy 16. Although
confidence marked the announcement by friends of Congressman Theodore E. Burton, of the Twenty-first district,
that he was pledging legislators to his
election to the senate, men close to former Governor Herrick predicted that their candidate will wage a ter
rific fight with Burton.
It was said yesterday that Herrick
had agreed not to oppose Burton, the agreement being credited to Taft with whom both Herrick and Burton confered last week. It was also intimated that Herrick was also to be Secretary of the Treasury in the event of Taft's election, but men close to Herrick deny that he is out of the senatorship race.

POLICE MUST NOW WATCIUHf TREES
Are Assigned to Duty of Having Them Trimmed.
It is up to the police department to notify the property owners of the city that their shade trees need trimming. For some time there has been a difference of opinion among the city officials as to whether it was the duty of George Young, sanitary inspector, or the police department. The inspection of the ordinance showed that it was the police department. Supt. Bailey has instructed the men to notify him when any trees were found that needed trimming and notice would be sent to the property owners to get out the pruning hook and get to work.

WILL EN0 SOON Campfield Endeavors to Do Away With Receivership On Colonial Building.
INSURANCE COMPANIES PAY
In all probability the receivership of the Colonial building that is at present held by the Dickinson Trust company will have run its course within the next week. Mr. Samuel Dickinson stated that Mr. Campfield, owner of the building was receiving his insurance money and that tbe remaining deficit will be settled through a loan, so that the receivership will be dissolved just as soon as he is able to secure this loan.
Several of the insurance companies
holding the largest policies in which
Mr. Campfield was insured, have deferred their payment until the last
few days. One of the companies that held a large part of the insurance on the building made its settlement. The work of the carpenters is being rushed. Already there are several rooms ready for occupancy. The room formerly held by the Five and Ten Cent Store is being completed rapidly and this store will reoccupy the room about the first of September.
