Begtas Todmodtow (Ttoiuirsdlffly) Closes Saturday, July 11th The mere announcement is sufficient to pack our store with intelligent bargain hunters every minute we are open for business from the beginning to the end of the sale. WHY? Because we have demonstrated to you in the past that our SALES, like our SHOES, are out of the ordinary. We are just as jealous of our reputation for conducting HONEST SALES as we are of selling HONEST SHOES. We don't advertise a SALE in order to get people into our store and then try to sell them shoes at practically their full value. You can't fool the same people twice with that kind of a scheme, and that we don't resort to such methods is amply shown by the fact that Every Sale Wc Have Conducted Has Been Greater Than Its Predecessor. You know the money-saving sales we have given you in the past, but this time we are going to give you THE GREATEST SHOE SALE RICHMOND HAS EVER KNOWN which is simply another way of saying we are going to give you BETTER SHOES FOR LESS MONEY than you ever bought before, as the EXTENT of a sale is in strict proportion to the PRICE INDUCEMENT offered. We. can't quote near all of the GREAT BARGAINS OFFERED, but here are enough to give you an idea of them:

Indianapolis, Ind.; June 24. "The
way the Republicans in Indiana are ; taking to Taft and Sherman is very en'couraging. The outlook for republican success is much brighter than we 'had hoped," said Fred A. Sims, acting chairman of the republican state comiinittee. "In Taft and Sherman the republicans have nominated the easiest kind !of a ticket for us to defeat in Indiana," jBaid Stokes Jackson, chairman of the ' democratic state committee. These widely different statements were made casually by leaders of the
rival organizations. Jackson has been touring the state some with ThomaB R. Marshall, of Columbia City, nominee for governor. "We are right in the midst of the campaign now," said Jackson. "There will be no let up until after the electtion. "The formal opening of our campalgn will take place sometime between f the loth of August and September 1. "Do you think the gold democrats "will line up for Bryan V" he was asked. "There isn't any doubt about it," he replied. "Why, there's Charlie Jewett ,of New Albany, and many other gold democrats who vere active ' against Bryan in ISiMj, who are ready and anxious to do whatever they can for him in the present campaign. Marshall and Bryan will get all of the gold democrats this time." As to what attitude the Indiana delegates will take on the demands of ! Samule Gompers and other labor leadi ers on the matter of an injunction i plank in the platform Chairman Jacki son said he was not informed. "We are not making platforms at ithis time," he added. Secretary Reiley said that the 'num- ' ber of requests for tickets to the Derij ver convention is surprising consider- ; ing the long distance the Hoosiers will ' have to travel to reach there. . Big Chief Joseph Kealing of the i Fairbanks organization, who managed the vice president's race, has returned ifrom Chicago. Notwithstanding the
(harrowing finish of the Fairbanks boom he is wearing a smile fully as l broad as that of secretary Taft himleelf. "I feel," said Kealing, "that the republicans have nominated a good ticket. I am gratified that the Indiana republicans were united at Chicago. It i makes an- ordinary Hoosier like myself feel good to know that Indiana was the ' only state presenting a candidate that ! stood faithfully by its candidate to the end. "It seems to me now that we shall go Into this fight in Indiana this fall i with a more united front than ever before. . The loyal co-operation which characterized the efforts of Indiana men at Chicago has served to bring Indiana republicans into closer relations than ever before. "I am speaking entirely within the bounds of truth when I say that Mr. i Fairbanks' s friends at Chicago attractFed the admiration of republicans from Jail over the country by their loyalty to ithe state and to Its candidate."

Killer-to-Be Kermit, and an hour later Quentin Roosevelt, barefooted and barearmed, was dashing about the village in pursuit of imaginary elephants, bears and lions. The president kept the wires hot to Cleveland, Ohio, getting reports on the condition of James S. Sherman, the nominee for vice president, and seemed very uneasy as to the outcome of Mr. Sherman's illness.
