The second annual banquet of the Trifolium Literary society of the First English Lutheran church, was held last evening in the church parlors. Mrs. John Leive was chairman of the committee which made all necessary arrangements for this most charming and elaborate affair. Artificial flowers of a French design, intermingled with natural peach boughs, were suspended from the chandeliers and also were attractively festooned about the walls in such a graceful manner that the effect was unusually attractive. Large bouquets of pink peonies were used in the center and at the corners of the table, pink candles in beautiful candelabra gave a pleasing charm to the other table appointments. The place cards were dainty handpainted designs of pink clovers, with the word 'Trifolium" engraved upon them. Places were arranged for forty members and four guests. The honor guests were: Miss Weber of Tone-ka. Kansas. Messrs. Daniel Weber. Fred Dougan and Walter Pille. An elegant four course dinner was served at i:MO o'clock. LAFAYETTE READY FOR SOUS OF VETERANS I Registration Is Progressing Today. Lafayette, Ind.. June 12. Tyval committees in charge of the arrangen:, ns for ihe Sons of Veterans' state encampment report that everything is in readiness for the visitors who will come to the city today and Wednesday. Many delegates are expected. Among them will be women representing the auxiliary. Commander Charles S. Hartsell of Portland, the head of the state organization, arrived in the city last night and assumed charge of the encampment. Today will he devoted to the reception and registering of the delegates at the G. A. R. headquarters. The business sessions will be held in the Circuit and Superior Court rooms.
