Retail at ACCUSED EMBEZZLER'S TRIAL POSTPONED Case Has Been Continued 0ftener Than Any Other. Although the prosecuting attorney and Will Kelly, associate counsel in the case of the State vs. Hunt, had declared they would insist on the trial of ihe case on the date fixed, it has been continued again indefinitely. This case has been continued oftener than any appearing on the criminal docket. Hunt is charged with embezzlement. He was indicted by the grand jury and is i nner bond. The case has been continued through the October term of last. year, the January term of this year and so far has dodged trial in the April term. JACOB BUTTS NOT YET F Relatives of Man Who Disappeared Still in Dark. Relatives at Rushville have not succeeded in locating Jacob Butts, the former employe at the City restaurant, who disappeared from this city several weeks ago. It was feared at. first Butts had committed suicide but later it was believed most, likely lie left for parts unknown. Butts went away from Richmond without .securing ali the money due him from his employer. EX-PRESIDENT CLEVELAND MUCH IMPROVED IS Condition Is Encouraging to Physicians. New York. New York, April 24. Fearing Harry Thaw will do personal violence to his wife, or E. R. Thomas, who has been much in her company recently, his mother engaged detectives to watch him in the event he is released from Matteawan. BLUECOATS DECIDE TO STRIKE THEMSELVES Object to Strike Breaking Methods. Pensacola. Fla.. April 24. Objecting to the methods employed to break the street car strike, sixteen policemen went on a strike this ruorniu;. Saint-Simon's Poverty. Saint-Simon, the celebrated French author who wrote "The Reorganization of European Society," was twice driven by want to attempt his own life, and, although he died a natural death in the end, it was among the most lamentable surroundings. A mixed force of British and Indian troops is at present being rapidly mobolized near Peshawur. for another punitive expedition against the fanatical tribes who recently have been raiding and looting villages on the Peshawur border. Be The organization for the purpose of conducting a corn school in Wayne county is delayed temporarily through the inability of the committee to make arrangements with Prof. Christie, of Purdue University. Nearly every farmer in the county is interested in the prospects of the school. PLANS LAID EOR SIX MONTHS POLL Bowman Has Issued Instructions. The six months' Republican poll of the county, will be taken, May 3. Instructions to this effect were issued by County Chairman Bowman today. The ward chairmen are to be assisted by precinct committeemen in taking the poll. It is probable that in this city the wards will be divided and the poll of each street taken by a resident of the street. The poll books were distributed this morning. A 'FRANK CRITIC. It was Rufua Choae, who was not musical, who nee at the opera gazed helplessly at his libretto and, turning to his daughter, who was musical, said: "Helen, expound to me this record, lest I dilate with the wrong emotion."
