Greensfork Lad Has a Fast Friend in the Animal Which Is Well Broken. CAUSES WONDERMENT. (Irf enf.fork. Ind.. April 'J' I. - Visitors to this pla. e behold a spertarle. vhi h to them in not only itmusing but astonishing. Thf residents of the village have become .si i accustomed that they think littl of jr. The cause of the woiidcrciiieiit on the part of sisitors is the sight of the leven-v -ar-old son of J. J. Smith, riding about the streets and country rojid on a two-year-old ox. The lad lias trained his burden bearer to work in double harness with one of hi father's farm horses, to work in shafts to a small wagon and the animal is wc7i waited for saddle purposes. It is seldom that an ox is used for paddle purposes and it lias been suggested locally that the boy ride it Hi rough to Washington-. R C, on a wager. There is some doubt if the lad's father will permit tlx- undertaking because of the boy's ae. The youngster and his faithful, beast appear to be firm friends. The lad's weight is as nothing on the broad- back of the ox. nnd the- creaiure moes alxmt rapidly instead of in tlie custa unary slow, ambling gait of its kind.
