ALLEGE CRUEL TREATMENT There are eithor two Anna Bowmans in Wayne county, who are dissatisfied with two John Bowmans. or there is but one Anna and one John and two attorneys have filed suit to procure a divorce from the same John for the same Anna. Which is it V "Squire Abbott, who filed the suit today, said he does not know whether he represents one Anna who wishes a suit from one John and Robbins. Starr & Robbins represents another Anna, who wishes a suit from another John or if one Anna in her tribulation has consulted both legal firms for advise. This fact exists in reality, however. There Jare two suits for divorce filed in the Wayne circuit court and the plaintiff in each case is Anna Bowman and the defendant is John Bowman. Robbins .S.Starr & Robbins represent Anna No. 1. She alleges cruel and inhuman treatment and abandonment. Those are the same charges preferred by Anna No. 2. v according to the complaint prepared by "Squire Abbott. A QUICK RECOVERY Or Judge Fox Will Grant Continuance of the SmithVaughan Trial. UP TO THOMAS J. STUDY. Thomas J. Study is improving slightly and today was abie to leave his bed. He was not recovered sufficiently to attempt to leave his home, however. Judge Fox, in the Wayne circuit court stated this morning that unless Mr. Suidy shows speedy recovery in the next day or two. the court will grant a continuance of the Smith-Vaughan trial in which Mr. Study appears as an attorney. Mr. Study's affliction is one that has given him trouble for a number of years. E MILLS START Elwood, lnd., March 2i. District Manager Thomas O'Brien, of the tin-plate-works, announces that he has prevailed on the Eastern officials to allow him to start four more hot mills in, the local plant on next Monday morning, March 30, which will make sixteen running at that time. Sol Meyer, presideut of the old Indianapolis Fire Insurance company, which has just been reinsured by the German American of New York, is sending out letters to the Indianapolis fire agents, telling them of the change. Special agents of two or three fire insurance companies have already been at the state auditor's office, trying to get the names of the Indianapolis fire agents. If is presumed that these special agents see an opportunity to place some of their business in the state in new hands. The Indianapolis Fire had about 150 agents in Indiana. Altogether it had about G50 agents. Mr. Meyer, in his letters to the agents, explains the cause for reinsurance, saying that the surplus of the Indianapolis Fire was gradually decreasing. The German American, he says, has purchased all of the business of the Indianapolis Fire which was in force at noon, March 23, lftOS. This purchase, he explains, includes agency records, registers and other data relating to risks reinsured and these records now become the property of the German American. Professor Lamar Granted Professional License by The State. WITH LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL. Prof. F. S. Lamar of the Richmond high school faculty was granted a professional licence by the state board of education at its last meeting. This distinction represents an honor for which almost all of the teachers of Indiana aspire.
