New Castle, Ind., March. 25. Mrs. Sophia White of lloneycreek. has filed suit for damages against Adam Miller, a saloon man of the same township, and also the Baltimore Bonding company. Her charges are that Miller illegally sold liquor 1o her husband, causing him to injure with a razor Jacob Abshire and Harry Warnock of lloneycreek, during a drunken frenzy, resulting in White's arrest and detention in jail, charged with assault with intent to kill.

attempt to open for business on Sunday. Th'e non-union shops are not likely to open for fear of prosecution on the charge of violating the Sunday laws of the state. The great majority of barber shops In this city is governed by union laws and tho minority can not afford to enter into a contest. When It was announced the supreme court had held the law unconstitutional that required barber shops to close on Sunday, on the ground it was passed as class legislation, the non-union barbers had visions of a return to the time, when they were paid a quarter per for shaving a man on Sunday. There has been a feeling of timidity, however, and last Sunday none of the shops was open. When the local began to tighten Its lines several months ago. it caused the arrest of one boss barber for violating the Sunday laws and announced it would prosecute every barber, who violated the law. The union barbers hold this is an effective way of making non-union shops comply to union laws as to the time of open hours. They assart they intend to control the barber business in so far as they can.

The attorney in the case of Clara Thomas vs. John Thomas, who appeared as counsel for the plaintiff, was permitted to withdraw his submission. This was an easy way of affording the plaintiff aa opportunity to ask a retrial without having a decision entered against her. Mrs. Thomas sought divorce and alimony. The present status is the same as if the case never had been tried. The defendant did not ask for a verdict against the plaintiff owing to the property rights involved.

FEDERATION FORMED

Men of Various Churches Perfect an Organization Of Worth.

In the Commercial club rooms, the Federation of Men's Church organizations was perfected, six organizations being represented. A constitution was adopted and the following officers elected : President-W. S. Hiser. Vice president W. B. Russell. Secocnd vice president E. M. Haas. Secretary J. M. Judson. Treasurer F. B. Unthank. The constitution provides that the objects of this federation is to increase the effectiveness or the various cnurch organizations: to promote daily bible reading and to assist, in the moral improvement of the citizens of Richmond. The constitution also provides that any church which has no men's organization can be represented in the federation by the appointment of a committee by the pastor of the church.

Franklin. Ind., March 25. Despondent over what is believed to have been a love affair, Susie, the 18-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Felix Richardson, committed suicide by shooting herself in the heart with her father's revolver.

CASES CONTINUED UNm SATURDAY Absence of John F. Robbins Makes This Necessary.

The cases of the State vs. Sterling Bolin and the State vs. Daniel Drischel which were set for trial on Thursday, have been continued until Saturday, because of the-absence of John F. Robbins from the city. Mr. Robbins is employed as counsel in both cases. Bolin is the negro, who assaulted Arch Hindman at Hagerstown and precipitated the mob and riot that intended to take his life by lynching, and Drischel is the marshal at Cambridge City. Drischel is charged with assault and battery upon William Armstrong.
