First M. E. church was the first of the local Methodist congregations to hold its quarterly conference and stiect officers and committees. Grace church will meet for the same purpose this evening and Fifth Street church will meet tomorrow evening. One of the most important matters decided upon by the First church congregation last evening was the recall of the Rev. R. J. Wade to the pastorate. The congregation also adopted a. resolution asking that the Rev. T. M. Guild be reelected as presiding elder of the Richmond district. Reports Encouraging. The reports of the year showed the financial affairs of the, church to bo in first class shape. The -onferenee year, which ends this week will do so without any deficit in the treasury. During the past year there has been an addition of members and 47 baptisms. All other reports were very satisfactory. Quit a large delegation from this church, will attend the North
