v Spring and Summer, 1908 Visit Our Garment Section Style! Style! Give Us Style! This has been our insistent demand during our excursions to the style marts and fashion centers in seamh of WOMEN'S, MISSES' and CHILDREN'S OUTER GARMENTS FOR SPRING. We had no easy problem before us. There are models upon models being offered by the many garment makers, all of which are more or less acceptable. But having set a high standard of style as our guide and being careful to maintain our reputation for style reliability, we insisted upon having for our customers, nothing but that which is most recent and fashionable. As a result of such critical discrimination Our Spring Suits, Jackets, Coats and Skirts Have Style Expression and Individuality to a Degree that is Surprising. We were never so well pleased with our efforts. It is indeed a well selected line of tasty, good styles of sufficient variety to afford a wide choice and please all tastes and purses. Our Mr. Nusbaum is at present in the New York market buying here and there all the newest and latest novelties expressing them for prompt showing and filling in gaps left by the unusual heavy buying, the past several days. Watch our windows for spring style creations.

Application for a new trial for John R. Walsh, former president of the Chicago national bank convicted of illegal use of Its funds. was made in the United States district court before Judge Anderson. One hundred and fourteen reasons for the granting of a new trial were presented by the attorney for Mr. Walsh. Chief among them were The conduct of Juror Eibert E. Palmer, who because of sympathy for Walsh, nearly collapsed in the Jury box when the verdict was returned. Attorney Hart cited numerous au thorities in support of the contention that Mr. Walsh was not fairly convict ed, and was followed by Attorney John S. Miller, who attacked the validity of the verdict because of Juror Palmer's physical and mental condition at the time the verdict was returned. The arguments! were resumed this morning, .HOWARD GOULD'S FATHER IS INSANE Lived Alone for Period of Ten Years. Jacksonville, 111., March 11. New York, March 11. Fright over a "black hand" letter picked up at the doorstep of her home, February 20, was the direct cause of the death of Grace Seamans, 8, daughter of Arthur Seaman s, according to the report of the attending physician. The letter found by the child was addressed to Henry Schuster, landlord of the house in which she resided with her parents. Its weird wording, spelled out by the girl, was enough to cause the highly strung young girl to go into hysterica. From that time until she died she was in a state of fear and excitement that puzsled the physicians. She refused food and screamed and cried with terror over the evil she believed to menace her. Her one thought was that the "black hand was after her life.
