Dieting is starvation, to an extent. Your body requires many kinds of food, and to limit the variety means to rob some part. Eat what you need of the food that vou want, for Kodol will surely digest it.
WEST SIDE FIRE PROTECTION. The lire that destroyed the home of Henry Xobbe in Fairviow yesterday, again calls attention to the utterly inadequate fire protection Richmond affords its citizens living on the west side. Fully three or four thousand peoplo live west of the river, in their own homes built -with their savings. They pay taxes to the city and yet the nearest firo department is located on North Fifth street in the city hall. As taxpayers our fellow citizens of the -west side are fully entitled to a hose house on their side of the river. At the present time the city officials are busy preparing plans for public Improvements for the- coming season. BOTH LOCAL RAILROADS WILL OBEY THE DEMANDS OF THE LAWS TO THE LETTER MUCH INCONVENIENCE.
At midnight last night two of the j most drastic federal laws that have ever been enacted affecting the rail I road interests went into effect, namely the sixteen-hour law governing the working schedules of all clashes of rail- ' load employes and the nine-hour lawgoverning the working sciu-uules of the i telegraph operators. j The telegiaplii i.,' law. acainst which
i the railroads have waged fierce com-j ' hat. has been reviewed time and time again, but there has been but little comment made on the sixteen-hour law. Very few of the railroad- in the local section will be isibly a:t'led 'by the latter law, but many oth- ' er icad.e wii! be compelicd to : 'ablish new division points for the cv.aagfug of ,-cws nnd otherwise completely change the arrangements of their s item .-- as to be able to conform to ; the law's exactions. The local railroads, although not affected to a great ; extent have been issuing bulletins ! during the last wee!: containing a copy of the law- ar.d advising their cm- ; ploycs of the ohanm-d conditions. Leave the cure of Dyspepsia to Nature. Hut give Nature a chance. Stop the pain immediately, for pain means that undigested food is irritating the stomach lining. And that lining, which is always inflamed in dyspepsia, will never get right while it is constantly irritated. Stop the formation of gas. which comes from fermenting food. Stop the impurity which is fed to the blood by the food that decays. Supply yourself with plenty of nourishment. For recovery depends on gaining more strength, and on letting the stomach rest. All that is done by Kodol by digesting the food that you eat. For Kodol is a perfect digester.
Help is a thousand times more important. whea the stomach is weak. For imperfect digestion means that you don't get food. Let the stom uh rest for a time, ju.-t as you must rest when you wish to recuperate. That is all that is necessary and all that you can do,.
You will say, perhaps, that you have tried digesters before. But you are mistaken. Vou may have tried pepsin, but pepsin digests only albumen. Yon mav have trlol any of numerous preparations which digest part of the food. Hut Kodol alone digests all of the food. It is the only way to do all that the digestive organs can do, when they are perfectly strong. And the results are immediate. Kodol is liquid, like the digestive juices. Its action begins as soon as it enters the stomach.
You don't want to always depend on artificial digesters. We understand that. Hut you must help the stomach while the stomach needs help. Else it will always need it. If you sprain your ankle you must use a crutch for a time. You relieve the ankle until it gets strong. It would never get strong if you did nou
Kodol alone contains all the digestive elements And thev are tture i:i sutheient strength. A tablespoouful, taken alter a meal, is enough I digest it eompletely This has often been proved by adding KodoT t food in a test tube. Keep the food moving, ami keep the temperature right, just as the stomach does. Any sort of food, or any combination ef foods, will be completely digested. IVpsiu alone won't do that. Other digester won't do it. The only way to possibly do this is bv the use of Kodol.
Our Guarantee
You may prove, without the risk of a pennj, what Kodol can do. Uuy one large bottle, and ask your druggist for the t-igned guarantee. If the results are not satisfactory, take the empty bottl back and your druggist will return your money. This offer is made on the large bottle only, and to but one in a family. That will amply prova how much Kodol means to you. Then pKiase tell your friends who need this help how easy it is to obtain it. Kodol is prepared at the laboratories of E. d DeWitt & Co.. Chicago. The $1.00 bottle contains 2i times as much as the 50c bottle.

A good many people get mad when
you tell them they've got dyspepsia, but way down deep in their stomachs they know they've got it. "I'd love to eat it, hut I, can't," is one kind of dyspepsia. "I hate to think of it." is another kind. There are thousands of people today who hate their meals, and love them at the same time. They haven't that fine empty-hungry, eat-every-thing-in-sight kiud of feeling which goes with every good strong healthy stoinach. That's because they havedyspepsia. And then there are others whose mouths don't water at meal time or at any other time. They sit at the table and go through the motions, only because it's time to cat. invariably failed during the past seventy years, as shown by the record. The same record of Ash Wednesday predictions does not show a single error. The legend says if. the sun rises clear, the groundhog will see his shallow and promptly retire for six weeks of seclusion, during which period winter will continue and spring will be late. If, however, the sun rises behind a cloud, even a little one, so that the groundhog fails to immediately see his shadow, he will stay out, and an early spring may be confidently expected. As the sun came up behind clouds, Richmond and Wayne county can now expect an early spring.
