PRISONERS GATHER -FOR WORSHIP IN JAIL Kokomo Convicts Grow Religious.
Kokomo, Ind., Feb. 11. A deep religious spirit has seizod Inmates at the county Jail. Almost nightly prayermeeting Is held, and religious reverence has awed the most rebellious heart behind the bars. Sheriff Lindley has provided the jail with a telescope organ, and in the incarceration of Farlow Zt-ck has found not only an organist, but a subject for reformation as well. An expert salesman, but a victim of drink, Zeek has been converted by Sheriff Lindley and has determined that never again, for the sake of his wife and his own good name, shall liquor pass his lips. lie has wealed this bargain with the .sheriff, who has made him a trusty. Of evenings the two lead the prisoners in singing, and until a late hour. Zeek is a musician and Sheriff Bindley a singer. Upon the wall of the lower tier of cells hangs a motto, "For God so loved 1he world that He gave His only Son that whosoever believeth on him might not perish, but have everlasting life." When he put this inotto up the sheriff was told that it would not remain a day, and that the prisoners would tear it down. On the contrary, it liangs undisturbed, draped in American flags. '"Do you know," asks the sheriff, "that if a new prisoner should hi; brought down who attempted to destroy that inotto the other prisoners would send him to the hospital department?" MISTAKE CORRECTED Correct the mistake of risking pneumonia ly neglecting a cough or cold when Foley's Jloney and Tar will not only stop your cough but. expe: the' cold from your system Foley's Honey and Tar contains no opiates and in the host and safest throat, and lung remedy.
