Greenfield, Ind., Jan. 31. Revelations were made in the trial of Francis M. Duncan, charged with the murder of James Lafollette, when Mra. Solomon Lafollette of Indianapolis testified to the intimacy that existed between Duncan and her sister-in-law, Mrs. Nan Lafollette, widow of the man who was killed by Duncan. The witness is a cousin of the defendant. Mrs. Lafollette's story was considered a greater blow to the defense than was the story told by Thurman Congor, the boy witness. Mrs. Lafollette said she saw Duncan, and the wife of the man he killed on Washington street in Indianapolis three years ago. Mrs. Nan Lafollette, she asserted, showed her a gold ring which she said the "kid" meanin(g Duncan) had bought for her, paying $6 for it. The witness said that her sister-in-law told her on that occasion that she was going to get a divorce from Lafollette and that Duncan was going to get a divorce from his wife so they might be married. Two years ago, the sister-in-law declared, Mrs. Nan Lafollette was staying at her house in Indianapolis, and in the absence of her husband she and Duncan visited Mrs. Nan Lafollette. When the witness and her husband returned they found Duncan "ma.king love" to Mrs. Lafollette. After Dun can had been ordered from the bouse, she testified he gave Mrs. Nan Lafollette money to buy clothing. On cross-examination Mrs. Solomon Lafollette admitted that she had been divorced from her husDand and had later remarried him. Mrs. Ann Yeager said she lived two houses soutu. of the Lafollette home when the tragedy occurred. She was called in before Lafollette died and at the time saw Duncan standing across the street from the Lafollette home. Sherman Yeager testified he heard a quarrel at the Lafollette home and saw Duncan, run from the back door of the house. Robert Lafollette, 8 years old, a nephew of ...e dead man. corroborated the story of Thurman Conger, declaring that he. too, saw Duncan drinking on the day of the tragedy and saw him handle a revolver. Seventy-five witnesses have been examined for the state and night sessions of the court are being held.

Marion, Ind., Jan. 31 "Don't get redheaded about it," said R. It. Miley. a conductor on a Jonesboro street car, to Mrs. A.
