The muscles of the body can be developed by exercise until their strength has increased manifold, and a proper amount of training each day will accomplish this result, but it is somewhat doubtful whether you can Increase the digestive powers of the
ptomach by eating indigestible food in order to force it to work. Nature has furnished us all with a perfect set of organs, and if they are not abused they will attend to the business required of them. They need no Abnormal strength. There is a limit to the weight a man can lift, and there is also a limit to what, the stomach can do. The cause of dyspepsia, indigestion rind many affiliated diseases is that the stomach has been exercised too much and it is tired or worn out. Not exercise but rest is what it needs. To take something into the stomach hat will relieve it from its work for . short time something to digest, the food will give it a rest and allow it time to regain its strength. The proper ;ud to the digestive organs is Stuart's Dyspepsia Tablets, which cure dyspepMa, Indigestion, gas n the stomach and bowels, heartburn, palpitation of the heart, and all stom
ach diseases. Rest and in isolation is what the stomach gets when you uso Stuart's Dyspepsia Tablets, for one grain of the active principle in them is sufficient to digest T..O00 grains of food. The Tablets increase the flow of gastric juice, and prevent fermentation, acidity and sour emotions. Do not attempt to starve out dyspepsia. You need all your strength. The common sense method is to digest the food for the stomach and give It a rest. . Stuart's Dyspepsia Tablets do not make the cure, btit enables the organs 1o throw oft unhealthy conditions. Perfect digestion means perfect health, for under these conditions only do .the different, organs of the body work right and receive the building-up material found in pure blood. Stuart's Dyspepsia Tablets is a natural remedy and is a specific for stomach troubles. The ablest physicians prescribe them. The Tablets are pleasant to the taste, and are composed of fruit and vegetable extracts, golden seal and pepsin. At all drug stores .".0 cents per package. North Bros. Coming. The Gennett will have for its attraction all next week, the Richmond favorites. North Bros., comedians, under the management of Ira Swisher. It is needless to say very much relative to the merits of this company, as they have appeared here, on several occasions and at all times, pave the best satisfaction of any stock company that has ever played this house. They come back with all new plays, opening on Monday night with a play writ-
jten especially for Nat C. Goodwin, lond one that, was a big success, the ! title of which is "The Viper on the
j Hearth." During their engagement, j they w ill repeat only one play that thev have ever uresented here before
I and that is Vietorien Sardou's famous
) French comedy "Divorcons." On their
previous engagement they presented
(this play to the largest audience ever
I assembled in the Gennett, but as that
iwas their second performance of the
play, they naturally were unable to
do the play the justice it deserved
but. they have played it every week
since then, and one would hardly know it as the same performance.

Ottawa, Ont., Jan. 31 Reports received here indicate that the coming spring will see the Doukhobors leave their Northwest communities and go on another wild pilgrimage. All accounts agree that the fanaticism of the sect has no parallel in modern times. Doukhobor leaders have been particularly busy since the beginning of
winter issuing decrees and each newpromulgation seems to have been drafted with a desire to outdo the preceding ones in inflicting hardships and suffering on "the faithful." Children are said to be dying for the want of proper food. The people are paupers. They have obeyed an order to sell all their cattle. With the beginning of winter they sold 15.000 eheep to mock the benevolence of the Quakers who gave the flocks to them. All products of the land go to the sect leaders. All chickens have been sold in obedience to a decree. Tea, coffee sugar and pancakes have been tabooed and the general diet has been narrowed to raw potatoes, onions, carrots, turnips and a few other vegetables. Among the latest decrees have been those abolishing time and looking glasses. Agents of the leaders have taken from the people about $7,000 worth of clocks and watches. One of Peter Veregin's lieutenants acted as looking glass collector. The women folk, who are noted for their deftness with their needles, have
been forbidden to make any more embroidery. The Doukhobor wheat is handled by a committee which does what it pleases with it. This committee controls
pretty nearly everything in tha way of
labor. The gangs which work on the railway and in the community brickyard pay over their wages to the committee without receipt. But. when it
comes to the laborers getting their
meagre food allowances from the com
mittee. they are compelled to give a
receipt for every cince.
In one district live hundred persons
are living in two houses. Each adult Is allowed a sleeping space of four feet
wide. All have to climb Into their beds over the footboards. The young
er men are stowed away in the garrets of the houses after the fashion of canned sardines. Nobody is permitted to wear more than one shirt no matter how cold the weather may be.

"Under Southern Skies." There is the gay spirit of Hallowe'en in "Under Southern Skies" which comes to the Gennett tonight, with an excellent company and a beautiful scenic production of the pretty idyll, now as famous as "Way Down
East." "Under Southern Skies" is by LOttie Blair Tarker, of "Way Down East'' fame. It is as essentially a geographical play as "Way Down East." and succeeds in staging local color and southern life in really charming and unhackneyed style. "Under Southern Skies'' is a love story, downright and wholesome: with youth and gaiety, humor and pathos, and a succession of delightful pictures of southern life, all set to the telling of how Lelia Crofton was wooed by two youths, one who wished for ber happiness. :tnd another who
wished for his own selfish endy and Xorcsd fcer to aa unhannx bridal, Jha
