James R. Keene's Daughter Has Brought Suit for Divorce.

IT IS A STRANGE STORY.

Columbus, Ind., Dec. 28. Ambition was the cause of Chas. Crouch's death, as he died of anthrltis caused by lack of nourishment. For some time Crouch, who was 28 years of age, has been keeping a small store at Kansas, Johnson county, and kept house m a room at the rear of the store. He did everything he could to save a penny and lived on can goods that he could easily prepare himself. He became so weakened that he had to close his store a few days ago and come to this city to the home of his sister. The dying man told the physician that he lived as cheaply as possible and Dr. Oldham then infornv ed him that he feared he had carried Ills ambition a little too far. His body was shriveled.

You Can Be Insantly Freed From The Humiliation of Knowing That Others Detect Bad Odors on Your Breath, Arising From Indigestion, Smoking, Drinking and Eating.

Tri Package To Prove It Sent Free. Breath perfumes do not strike at the root of the evil. They only conceal the odor for a time. But charcoal kills the gas that causes the odor, purifies the food lying in your stomach and intestines, facilitates the process of digestion, acts as a mild laxative, gives tone to the system; In short, gives you a clean bill of health. And all the charcoal necessary to obtain these results you can get in a box of Stuart's Charcoal Lozenges, price 25c. ' The uses of charcoal are many. In art and! electricity it is constantly used, but It is especially valuable where absolute purity of product Is required. As an absorbent and disinfectant It has no equal. Mtn Who Braved the Storm

the Sailor He Rescued.

Off the coast of Ireland there was a

terrible storm, and a crowd gathered

on the shore to see a storm tossed vessel not far away being pounded on the rocks. Sturdy men launched a boat and pulled away at the oars to rescue the imperiled ones. As the boat came back the watcher? on the shore cried, "Did you get them?" and they answered: "All but one. We had to leave him or risk the lives of all." And when they were landed a stalwart fellow stepped from the group and said, "Who will join me in the rescue of the remaining one?" Then an aged woman cried out: "Oh, my son, don't go; don't go' You are all I have left. Your father was drowned at sea, and your brother William sailed away, and we never heard from him, and now if you are lost I will be left In sorrow alone." But the man replied: "I must go, mother. Duty calls me." Then he and other brave hearts launched the boat and pulled for the wreck. Anxiously the mother waited in tears and prayers. At last they saw the lifeboat coming nearer and nearer, and when it was in hailing distance they called, "Have you got your man?" And the answer rang out clear above

the storm, "Yes, and tell mother it's
