Michigan. City, Ind., Dec. 18. Two robbers entered the store of Frank Gust, aged 75, and crippled, Tuesday, at the vllage of Brudick, and after a brutal assault on him, took his money and valuables and looted hia store. One of the robbers was captured, but the other made a spectacular escape from a posse of angry farmers by dashing away on a stolen horse. Under cover of darkness he rode to the city, leaving the exhausted animal at the outskirts of the city. The storekeeper was reading a newspaper when two men entered. Thinking they were customers he looked up and into the barrels of two revolvers. Covered by one robber the old man was ordered to keep quiet while the other went through the store. Finding little money they became angered and beat the old man almost into Insensibility, taking $25 from his pockets and fled.
Prof. Harlow Lindley of Earlham, will attend a meeting of the American Historical society at Madison, Wisconsin, next week. While there Mr. Lindley will speak before the Public Archive commission on "Indiana Archives."
