The National convention o the T. P. A.'s will he held at Milwaukee June 22nd, WJH, that date

having been agreM on by the national board of directors. We notice that Post Q of New Albu-

the Parcels Post bill. We do not know how Post C stands on this question ai it ha.s never been distuned in meet-

ing, hut I guess the boys think it is of small importance. Perhaps it i-. perhaps it isn't. Business has been awfully good for a few years, and it may not be so good thrs next year. If the parcels post bill should pass and Int. the mail order houses get a bigger hold on the trade some effect might be felt. We, however, believe that there will be no chance for the bill to pass. We also note that Post E of Lafayette and Post (i of Terre Haute voted to oppose the bill and sent strong resolutions to their congressmen and Senators at Washington.

TTe copy (he following from Mr. Ran in the Terre Haute .Morning Star: Mr. James Crawford, state chairman of the railroad committee, comes out with a letter which has been copied in Pottlet.er's Ltifa vt t.te T. P. A. column.

In which he (Crawford) proceeds to say In reply to sundry letters from members concerning freight rates upon railways, that where freight is billed from beyond siate limits, neither himself vor the state railway commission has any jurisdiction, and that grievances must be reported (o the interstate ..run r. i.. , ..t ... .1 TIi'lj iu rAoei

in Diamond and Jewelry buying is at the cross road of quality and price. Many houses use "quality" as a term of convenience, a vlaySmunJ where price romps about until it becomes unruly and runs away, in this way quality" is a much abused excuse for high price-making. ' Quality" is either good or not at all. It's the good quality that rules this house, and its the extreme smallness in price, coupled with that "quality," that have made of this the most popular house in its line.

During the past, week, a good stoiy has been going the rounds among local street car men on the motorman an I conductor of the interurban limited that runs between Dayton and Indianapolis. A few nights ago the limited on its return trip from Indianapolis lato in the afternoon, made a stop at Greenfield as is its custom to await the passing of a west bound car. The car from the east arrived, and made the usual stop and went on for Indianapolis. Likewise flip motorman on the limited, hearing the call "ail aboard," turned on the power and mer

rily resumed his journey toward Richmond. After a run of nine miles this side of Greenfield he made a stop at a siding where his conductor was to report by phone to the main dispatcher, but no conductor was to be found. A diligent search was made, in. on and under the car. but without avail. Tlu conductor's lantern, rubber coat an 1 hat were discovered on one of the back seats and the indications were that the man had either fallen from the car or else he had met with foul play. There was nothing to be done but re-traverse the road and keep out an "eagle"' eye for the missing conductor. The reverse was made over the protests of a car full of passengers, many from Richmond, who did not like the idea of being thus delayed in reaching their destination. The return trip was begun

and not a sign of the missing conduc

tor was discovered until the car reach

ed Greenfield again, and there compla

cently smoking a cigar, sat the con

ductor in the waiting station. The conductor then joined his crew and tho car made its second start for Richmond and arrived in the city about

nine o'clock, long after being due. T!e

question is. who is the joke on? Th

motorman says he heard the call, "all aboard." and says he took It for granted that it was his conductor. Tho conductor declares, on the other hand, that when the car left Greenfield he was in the station' awaiting orders ami that he did not even know of the departure of the limited until he received his orders and left the office, only, to find his car gone. It may be that the matter will be for the officials to solve, much to the discomfort of both, motorman and conductor. In tluj meantime the Joke seems to have becu on the passengers who had to travel eighteen miles overtime.

There ate many stories told of the .mte things said and done by children. Hecording to loving mothers and fond

rat hers, btit here is one that is hard to beat. The little two and a half year old baby in the family is just at the age when it is necessary to spell things that, she is not to know, and especially so now that Christmas is at hand and there are many secrets to be kept. The other day the fond mother was telling a neighbor who had called that she was dressing a new doll for
